There is a Telstra fibre optic cable across my rural property & no inspection pit that can be found. It was ripped in with a bulldozer, so I’m guessing it’s not in conduit. Can this be located from the surface, or should I start digging how far from the DBYD post? Unfortunately there’s no distance stamped on the post, just an arrow.
@@jameshorton-westscanunderg5164 This is in a rural remote area, & there's no sign of any box in which this wire could be located. Only the yellow marker posts 😞
@@jameshorton-westscanunderg5164 Checked for miles, but they are all unstamped. Seems to be a Friday afternoon job 😒How can the induction be done without the inspection box?
No. Fibre optic cables can not be located unless they are in a conduit, where we can push a Tracer rod down the conduit, or there is a Tracer wire buried with the asset. Cheers Shaun.
how its connect by machine ,is it live cable or which frequency used for locate?
Connected to tracer wire only. Frequency 65

Normal has a tracer wire buried above the fibre. So yes you can induce a signal onto the tracer wire and locate

@@michaelp1856 a pit box is not required to induce a trace wire. Have you Checked further along boundary for other marker post for distance to cable.

Good information
What if there is no tracer wire, can i hang the clamp on the fiber cable it self?

how maximum deep underground can be detect?
Most trace wires are buried 500mm to 1500mm and can be detected.
@@jameshorton-westscanunderg5164 Have you ever tried to detect undersea cables with that?
can i work in your company?
Without tracer cable able to locate ? example 3 -4 meter depths under rigid pavement surface ?
If fibre is direct buried without trace. No. If fibre is in conduit. Yes
