I've got a few nitpicks with the series but it's crazy how well they managed to represent early OP in the Live action. Kudos to the team.

The live action One Piece made me a fan of One Piece, I'm currently watching the East Blue saga, only the East Blue, cuz Netflix just renewed the show for a 2nd season, I don't want to get spoiled

I was gonna do the exact same thing, but it looks like I’m hooked on the anime now.

I'm VERY nervous about it. It was the anime that made me love anime. I mean, I watched Dragon Ball before that, but YYH cemented that love towards anime and it's forever a classic for me. The great main characters, the story, the fights, the humour, soundtrack, all the emotions. It has lots of strong points. Sure the last arc was rushed but still pretty decent, at least in the anime. I think One Piece nailed the characters, without making them cringy. Because live action just can't really have the same level of goofiness as drawn characters, would have looked very silly. They are more realistic here but they kept the core of their personalities perfectly.

I've been watching the One Piece Anime since 2006 and reading the manga since 2007. When they first announced the live action, I prayed that Netflix goes bankrupt so they'd have to cancel it. I couldn't imagine this being good. How could they do that to my beloved One Piece?🤬 But when I saw it, I cried tears of joy. It is so much better than I could have ever imagined. I think among the 3 versions Sanji's backstory the live action is even the best. The Zoro-Mihawk fight was recaptured in all it's glory, down to the smallest detail. They had to cut some really good stuff for budget reasons. But I understand that. The One Piece live action is still a masterpiece.

Too many times someone takes a beloved source material and try to spin it into live action and doing so comes up with something that is the total opposite of what it supposed to be. To be fair a lot of time it because of the constraints of technology or even lack of being able to visualize the transition between the two. Most live action Manga/Anime don't look anything like the source material and One Piece did a terrific job of doing it, I will not I've never seen the animated series and still haven't a year after watching the series.

Oh, bonus, all the talk shows go off the air so they all have an excuse not to talk about current events. These spoiled yuppies are all basically on a paid vacation.

I've been reading/watching One Piece for nearly 20 years. I love the live action adaptation!
Yea, there's things I don't like and things they cut that I think shouldn't have been cut. But the important part is the crew. The crew was perfectly cast and I think they did a fantastic job!
