nice to see the technology from the 700 and 800s making its way down to something much more affordable

I don't call £2000 for the 603 S3 affordable when the same same speaker was a £1000 before covid. Maybe £1300. Cheap made speakers with a high price. Since covid manufacturers have been pricing to make up for lost sales, lost margins for dealers. The 700 series are overpriced 702 S3, only go down to 46 htz +-3db is very poor, £5500. For the price, you should get clean bass down to 35 to 40 htz +-3db.

Got the DM604 S3 for 10 years now I guess and still a great speaker. Is it worth upgrading?

Slightly deeper, punchier bass. Highs are still very articulate with definition but smoother. Older 600 series can get a bit bright when turned up-not these. If you can give them a listen. DM604 still a great speaker though.

Cheap nasty sounding speakers that have a high-end price.

New titanium tweeter makes a world of difference. Cabinet has come a long way too.

      Sounds like you’re biased.

@bass4life294 I have owned B&W speakers. 600 series measurements are very bad. The S2s were the worst. Even 800s don't measure as good as they should. The treble is forward and becomes fatiguing. The sound is unbalanced. It's not being biased. Look at Kef they measure well, but with Kef, they look nice on the outside but are cheap on the inside. I am saying the crossover components used by Kef are the cheapest they can use, but they charge a high price for the speakers. Kef speakers are bass light until you get to the Blades. Or the LS60, but then Kef deliberately designed the LS that the amps can't be serviced. I know they are businesses and not charities. If you look at speakers, that is out there you can get speakers that are much better at the price point. Advertising budgets go a long way, B&W and Kef have very large advertising budgets, and a very large amount of the costs of their speakers goes into adverting, and the advertising budget has to be recovered in the price. Hence why I call some speakers cheap and nasty because they spend too much money on advertising that doesn't go into the speaker build and increaes the price. Money talks, and a lot of people in the hi-fi industry make their living off promoting, reviewing, and selling Kef and B&W speakers. That living comes from the oversized advertising budget. If you are constantly told how good a product is, then you will start believing that product is the best out of a whole range of similar products.
