    The older trains have door handles such that you can use it to force the train door open or close. Sadly this one does not thus when it got stuck, you have to pull it out of service instead of just saying that the door is not in operation...

    Good thing you knew pressing the ECB would help the matter! And luckily the ATP could be overriden to allow the train move despite the door stuck halfway open! If not its another troublesome 12-car pull.
    On a side note: SMRT needs to educate the public on that small but useful button, the announcement that advises the public to use the ECB only points to suspicious activities, not train faults, (just saying ahh..) one day if one of the train cars dislodge and the train captain didn't get a safety message about the incident, nobody uses the ECB to let the TC know about it, huge trouble could stir up ahead.

      Nigel Loke Yup, indeed! I just wish one day can film a 12-car pull trains, but only happens if train has severe mechanical problems (i.e. Trains total lost power from 3rd rail). In fact I believe the TC was not aware that the door could not even close at all, that's why keep opening and closing

      Transportation in Singapore oh well, the only indicator it gets is "Safe to move", wished each train had a computer that can output the exact error information (with sensors of course) , which helps reduce the need to utilise the ECB since the error would have already been sent to the captain, preventing major disruption.

    My opinions about types of trains (NSEWL Only)
    C151: Old is gold!
    C651: Like the train exterior and interior, especially the motor (because it’s sounds melody)
    C751B: The best train stock. I just luv it I also dunno why
    C151A: I truly hate this type of train stock, as there are too many malfunctioning issues over the train stock,
    *_ESPECIALLY ALMOST 7 YEARS AGO WHEN THE MRT LINE BROKE INTO PIECES LIKE SHIT_*
    C151B: Quite boring as u see them often. But overall, this train type is fine or not too bad, unlike the shitty C151Ass
    C151C: Very cold when you are inside this train stock. Not even almost an hour since start of service, already breakdown.
    I didn’t hate nor despise this type of train stock, but I don’t quite like it. At least it is better than C151As.
    So, what are your “overall” opinions of all the train stocks?

      My opinions on trains
      (LRT only)
      Old BPLRT train: Not that bad but annoying,so old
      New BPLRT train: Quite fast (as Deja Vu)
      Crystal Mover (SBST): SHAKEY AS FUCK!

    Okay this happened to me way before quarantine (2018) when I was going to Changi Airport, I boarded the C151A, but the could not move at all and after the train caption open and close many times, it was taken out of service. “Attention please, the train at the middle platform, is not for boarding!” idk *what happen to the door

    I experienced that as well. C151A stopped at YCK. After boarding the train captain closed the doors and one of the doors couldn't close in spite of him trying many times. End up need to get off the train and wait for the next one

      C151A is faulty (exploding battery during repair, shattering glass, then got this door problem)
      Then LTA still ask the same company to build not 1, not 2, not 3, BUT 4 trains (namely C151A, C151B, C151C and CT251)

    I would rather choose to withdraw all C151As and scrap them and recycle it to make something better instead then to fix it. way too faulty from what I have seen. I will be going to Singapore tomorrow.

      @@svc143bsoe Yea, I've just came back from Singapore and every single C151A I have been on has at least one problem or fault. Including once where the door opening indicator was showing the "opposite" side doors open when it actually opened at "this" side.

    Only like 2 or 5 years old door stuck already
    At least for our first Gen train only like when it is 20+ years old it happens
    Might as well scrap All C151A

      Icki Cheetah24 Yup, I honestly agree with it. Even C151A haven't hit 5 years old A/C unit started to spoil already, even the rebuilt sets also. Took a C151A months ago, I discovered that 3 cars had their A/C units malfunctioned....! Worse than C651, where only C651 has 1 car with A/C units spoil...

    Atleast you did press the ecb button if not the train would be stuck there and there will be a second train disruption and people will be fustrated.

      syed daniel Yeah, many people are just wondering how it would be fixed. They thought ECB is used for emergency purposes only. If door stuck for a prolonged period in the station means the door something wrong already. That's where delays would kick in if the problem could not be solved.

      Only C151B will use it. Yes, since C151A came in 2 batches. The first batch came in 2011 & 2012 while Batch 2 came in 2013 & 2014. The C151A Batch 1 order came in 2009 for the JEMP while Batch 2 was ordered for MSP or add capacity on NSEWL to support the DTL

      Yes, I agree with that. C151A is really worthless because high chances of spoiling is relatively 80%. And I took a C151A just now, yesterday that car A/C no problem, but now, the A/C spoil already...

    You know? Since this C151A's are useless and a bunch of crap...Might as well scrap it and use it to make something else useful though i think the things that they make out of this C151A's will be still a total garbage.Nothing is good from this Crappy designs and trains.They were probably experimental engines...what failures they are
