Hello, everyone.. I'm getting the tutorials in full swing for 2019! For more information, and to get a code for 1.3gb of samples for $1, please visit ghostwrittenclips.com/offer/ . Be blessed, and may the coming year be the most powerful and prosperous time you've ever experienced!
As long as all your demos aint erazd, it is o k a y. You rule you had patience So did Leondustar So ayrin tayxmxr (or so) Thanks again and in case i slowly disappear, believe i also into jchrist if son of god or into any prophet.c
i own both. there is a list of things BOTH units can do that the other can't. For the $200 i paid for the ES2, I would do it again in a second. We would have cut our legs off for a sampler that can do half of what it can do in 1997.
Hello.. My first sampler, in 1988, was the Roland S-10. I think it had 17 seconds of sampling time. Next I got an S-50, then so many Akais I can't even count them, the ASR-10, the Sequential Studio 440, etc. etc. My first shows, around 1990 or so, it took me a stage full of hardware to get what I can do now with just a small box. Nonetheless, I stand by my decision. The ES2 just has too many limitations for me to consider using it. I recently purchased on, just because I wanted to check out the new features, mainly Pattern Chain function. Nope. It was ridiculously cumbersome, and didn't do what I needed it to do in a live situation. I sold it within a week and bought.. .. the MPC Live. 32 tracks of MIDI or audio, 24-but effects, 4 per track, plus master inserts, live audio looping and sampling, multiple audio outputs, standalone hosting of synth and effects plugins and 128gb SSD. Yes, please, more of this. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
@danieklerr Thanx for this, i have one question. Does the old ESX time slices samples to keyboard notes so they can be played in custom order like on all other samplers or not? The new ES2 doesnt and thats one of the biggest disapointment for me on this sampler. Thanx
Hi man i have a lil troubles when i try to do this i got to SAMPLE then im choosing the sample i want to slice the drum part have the red light but i cannot press the shift 13 or the slice knob u know what the problem is?
Hi Daniel, not sure if you're still using these samplers as I see this vids a couple years old now but I had a question about the resampling you are doing here. Had my ESX for a while but only just got into the slice mode, I can time slice and manually select each of the chops of the sample I want to be triggers, but when I try to resample from there as soon as I hold shift and press record it just takes me right out of time sample mode. Any ideas why?
Hello.. How are you this beautiful Sunday? Anyway, if you want to resample manual playback of your slices, you need to be in Sample Edit mode and the sliced sample must be saved. Also, if the Keyboard button is lit up you won't be able to see the pages of slices. Does this answer your question?
Also.. If you send me an email at SnowMetalUniversity@gmail.com I will give you all of the free ESX sample/pattern sets I've made recently. There are quite a few of them. Thank you for contacting me. =)
Hi friend, did you cut it in 16/16? or 16/32? in treshold how much did you configure thanks? My slices come out too fast...and I can't record in SAmple...thanks
Hello.. Are you using an ES2 or an ESX? Regardless, you should try 32/16 (not 16/32), to slice your sample over two bars instead of one. This will "slow down" your sample playback speed. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching! Also, if you send me an email at SnowMetalUniversity@gmail.com I'll send you some free packs and other resources. :)
@@danieklerr hello friend thanks for the answer, I use the esx 1 , actually I wanted to put a two-bar drum loop but it never stays for example the snare on key 5 or hihat on key 3...
@@djbonne1 .. I see. Are your drum loops properly trimmed to the correct length? Also, are you aware that holding down Shift will allow you to add or remove slices before you finalize slicing?
@@danieklerr Good night friend, yes I am sure of that, but what I would like is to put a loop of 1 bar or 4 beats in the 16 steps, you know? pardon my English
I have a 404sx sd thingy and I bought the esx1 thinking I'd use it alot more as an all in one shindig drum machine/samples thing. but it's been just a p good drum machine for me and I haven't even tested its sampling parameters.... I want to dive deeper but I was wondering about the smart media card stuff... do you have to get a special voltage one just like that old tri-corder we all got?
Hello, and thank you.. I did sell mine and wad without it for a few years, but I bought another in preparation for the new units. In the end, I'm delighted to own it again. =)
I never have, but I've often sampled from old vinyl into software for processing, then into the ESX. I have an old SP404 lo-fi pack available.. perhaps I should translate it into an ESX pack and give it away for free? Thank you for watching!
Hello budy, how are you? Sorry to bother you again, but I'm not able to record the slice parts in RECORD, you know? I created the slices ok! Now I can play them separately on each pad, but I want to record my sequence live but not record, record in PartEdit or SAmples? Thanks and sorry if it's a bit confusing
Hello, again. In the Pattern mode, it is not possible to play an arrangement of your own slices in a track. However, in Sample mode you can resample by pressing Shift+Record. Then "play" your arrangement in real-time by triggering your slices in any order. Save to a new slot and listen back. I hope this helps! :) Thanks again for watching, and if you send me an email to SnowMetalUniversity @ Gmail, I'll send you some ESX packs.
@@danieklerr But it doesn't follow the beat of? For example I made a 4x4 beat and I want to play in real time recording the slices... is this possible?
You're so fast on this man! I have an EMX and really really think ill have an ESX 1 some day. I'm pretty sure they run very similar so jumping over shouldn't be too crazy for me.
thanks again for your video. that guys right the esx 1's are like gold dust. I'm waiting on one off ebay and can't wait. Cheers keep up the tutorials please.
+1Life Good choice! The ESX is a timeless classic and will always find a place in my studio; the ES2 is cheap crap and, while fun to work with, is poorly executed and is not worth the money. As for the ESX, I have a couple dozen tutorials up for it: ua-cam.com/play/PLFAC9AC7500B6FCA0.html
Hello.. That's where I currently am. I purchased another ES2, after many years, just to see if the newer OS updates (pattern-chaining, etc) had anything to offer. They really don't.
Hello.. It's true, the ESX/EMX were so bright and intuitive, so fun and capable, in so many ways. Still, as a 16-track standalone sequencer, with 16 parts that can be synth parts or drums or sliced bits.. and modulation, filters and FX per part, it's hard to beat the ES2 for the price.
SnowMetal the esx has a sound u can't get with nothing I always used as an effect to add character. The new one sounds like ni mashine. The esx has a tone like a real instrument with some Analog outboard in a mix kills anything u could use in the box.. It was slightly noisy. I ve watched a lot of ur tutorials on the esx 1 u made it sounds like an octatrack and beyond no one would of tought how complex can go. Micromattic its another lad who was going nuts with it. I went nuts with crazy lines too miss it a lot to be fair but it wasnt mine..
