Your on the east coast? sheet metal workers on the east coast are different breeds duane. On the west coast and failed my first union sheet metal class. Im a 3rd year. A little defeated. Was gonna give up. But i think im gonna give it another go. Thanks duane
@@lukebingham2965 hi Luc on behalf of the East coast thank you for the flattering comment, but in all honesty all provinces try to follow similar levels or curriculum which in the end after four years, will lead everyone challenging the same Red Seal exam. Don’t hesitate to ask me a question if I can help out, I will. I hope you stick with it and remember that all difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.
I tried to stay focused but its hard when Geometry hard to process. Who knew that one day we would be wishing we were taught better Math in K-12. Im only good at drawing my fittings but i have no knowledge of how to hand fabricate them, since there's a CNC machine for that. Where can I get some helpful guidance to learn how to turn my drawings into reality, are there any books for that? You sound like a very patient person instructor, how can I work on being more patient in the field, because being a classroom instructor and a field instructor are not the same.
it feels like I'm back from my third year high school classes , hmm through the year we tend to forget what we already learned tsk. I hate my brain.. hhmmmm btw can you give me example of you using or constructing Tangent line on Circle on the ACTUAL DUCT you are working with.? please , or give me a link if you already made one
Im not sure if I’m answering your question? At the 9min mark of the video I demo the tangent line on a circle. I really don’t have an example where one would need a line on an actual round duct. Sorry.
That’s a tough one to answer because there are diff types of downspouts. If your talking residential, I’d buy it. If it’s an architectural downspout, I would follow the dimensions/profile as I would for straight Rect duct. Sorry I wasn’t more helpful.
@sheetmetalwork that's about the same way I would have answered the question... thank you for the response. I figured it never hurts to ask, just in case theirs some other way about it I hadn't stumbled upon...
@sheetmetalwork is their a lock that can be created in a 10' break that would work for a downspout? We just have a half-inch segment that overlaps and acts as a riveting flange.
layout thank you sir.....Love this keep it going. It's much needed as we in America have forgot this.
You are a king, my dear stranger friend!😂🥰👏👏👏🇧🇬👋
I appreciate your comment Angel, but I a king?? that’s a first for me 😊, other than coming from my pup 🦮. Lol

Hello. Where can I buy a compass like yours?
First of all, sorry for not replying sooner. The dividers used are from Malco, they work great.
Think you could do a video on making a hess fitting? Your videos are helpful.
I will add you request to my list. Hoping that I can someday deliver 🙏

I would recommend the 40 most frequently-used Fittings by Richard K Buszik.
Can u make a video tee flattening / oval tee?
Do you mean an oval tee? Is the main pipe circular? What angle is the tee?
@@sheetmetalwork I mean a tee with a reduced side, like an elbow
