Why is nobody talking about how Rina, Yooyung and Sei can view the dance, mimic the moves per syllable and then perform the dance. This is like super power level learning. Now you see what years of being a trainee gives you.

SNSD in the 2nd gen, Hyo, Yuri on Dance line actually cute concept not their major dance, both are more to detailed, powerful, and sharp move, Hyo even told that herself on interview, but at that time agency choose SNSD to be a girlgroup with cute concept, and dance to the agency character, but it's doesn't mean they are have to fully follow the choreography from their choreographer, that can give idea about other move, but then again, it's only if the agency accept that move to be the part of that song. For Super Junior, they are more free (?) I think, after their agency give them SJ label, they are more opened to share idea and change the choreo that's already given, usually it's Shindong and Eunhyuk who makes their choreo to fit a move that Heechul can do (because his feet have a fracture and use metal on it, so some sharp and Powerful moves hurt him). But in gen 3 I think some other agency let's their artist to choose their own style, like RBW (Mamamoo, ONEUS) they are more likely, hire choreographer to communicate with their artist idea about the dance to song and give opinion or give the better move, but for their song HIP, they do pay for full dance choreo, as they want to challenge themselves to dance, because most people said they are more like vocal group, because their dance not to powerful (Personally I don't think their dance that bad, maybe it just opinion from their haters). GFriend and Seventeen itself mostly make their own moved just a little advice from choreographer need it. That's why Big Hit have interest to take them, because both of their group really trying hard to produce their music alone, and give a good impact to their company because they are doing it really well. I didn't mean other group doesn't work like them, but for Seventeen at least, they are choose the member together, compose their own song and write the lyrics, thinking about the dance, not shy to ask advice from senior. A choreographer doesn't just do the choreography they also spend time with the members to train them to perfectly dance it at a stage. Also there is a lot of movement involved to give everyone a center position, especially if there are more people singing/rapping. Yes, they got really nice moves for free - and the fans are really great dancers and some might even become better choreographers, but the position of one is very much needed and not something you can outsource to the internet. I'd hire the first guy on the spot if he also knows how to do group choreography - if I had any say in a label.
But if it's an overseas choreographer and they dont have time, they just send a video and the members learn from it. Also you can have 2 or more choreographers working on different parts of the same song. It happens sometimes.
