I don't know why, but I feel sorry for those people who say the movie The Village was boring, terrible, a waste of their time. I feel if you don't have the sensitivity to see what a remarkable masterpiece this movie is, there is sadly something missing in your soul, something gentle, and caring for the human condition of your fellow human beings on this planet we all share. But as in everything, we all have our own opinions, and this is mine.
Unfortunately the movie was labeled incorrectly as horror, then all movie sites used this label and people got disappointed where is the horror in it? I also started to watch it as horror, then I realized it is a very nice romantic movie, and I still loved it, even if I got something else I expected.
I feel sad-angry because some people will never hear/understand this. Others will fit it into some generalized world, deemed unworthy of becoming meaningful.
When we do find them it's amazing and perplexing. However, most of the time we find it futile to use words. If finding "the words" was easy I would be writing poems left and right xD trust me I'm into calligraphy and sometimes I miss the words! Nowadays I find myself hating poems 'cause the words just don't speak (ironic much?). I once thought maybe it was the fact of desensitization over mere words on paper; maybe people just don't know how to appreaciate the word; maybe I'm just crazy
After watching Glass today I think you should all pay The Village a second viewing. Kinda underrated if you ask me. If you still hate it, that's fine, but I recommend giving it a second chance.
You have inspired me. I rarely hate movies, I didn't hate the Village, but reading your comment I think I might get more from a second viewing. Sometimes more subtle works of art don't get the attention they deserve. Thanks for the comment.
I don't understand how someone can sit down and compose such a lengthy score each part unique in is own right yet still part of a whole. Even less how someone can play it all on sight and with imagination... talented people
The violin part starting at 3:50 and going till 4:30 makes me cry! I think about the creation process "Let there be light" from Genesis 1:3... plus everything good that exists including music like this piece that transcends everything and touches deep.
I agree with earlier comments. Here is a piece of music that is so deep!! It is simple, pastoral, has the love theme in it and it is mysterious and eerie as the setting for the movie. The violin brings me to tears every time I hear it.
Goshhhh I feel the pain . Unexplainable the amount of pain and sadness it gives. Hold tight bro it won’t fade but might lighten up with time. Sending u my healing prayers.
The Holy Spirit - as one of his many gifts - saved me from nostalgia. Once this music, for me too, would have been sadness with the past. Now it is joy and comfort with today... which is Sunday. May Father-Creator, Son-Saviour and Holy Spirit-Comforter be with you, friend. "Signs" is also the co-work of Shyamalan and Howard... and the Holy Spirit, so see.
Since his work for Elton John I absolutely adore the sensitivity of James Newton-Howard and his own tone and athmospheres he´s creating. Somehow a postmodern Claude Debussy and César Franck ...
Roger Ebert may he rest in peace gave 2 thumbs down on this movie this is the one time I think he was absolutely wrong , Those people did the right thing according to their hearts and consciences if this happened in the real world I for one would say Bravo
We know we must be in the world, but not of it. Since begging Father, Son and Holy Spirit to cleanse me before what I thought would be my rapid death (OF COURSE They heard me), I have been trying to achieve the above (my first sentence), with varying degrees of success. The Holy Spirit offers discernment, and I am much better at seeing the evil in the world now (there's plenty of it); but I am also kinder and indeed better than before in a whole host of ways. I have daily joy from the love and the truth even in the face of the dire awfulness of the 2020s. Since my being born again (that was 28-2-21), I have written to thousands of people on UA-cam. It's my mission, and it gives me great joy. Of course, I am just the conduit, but that's more than OK. Very few people reply, but that's OK too. May God bless you, and give you resilience to face all. He REALLY can do that!
In order to appreciate this movie you need to be able to appreciate the fact that its a work of art about the human condition, it is not a horror film.
Great film and a fantastic score. Hilary Hahn is the violinist. It's a shame all those Vin Diesel movie lovers would stop watching these movies that have an interesting and different story which doesn't involve blowing cars up. Go back to watching your 15 y/o viewer movies that the Hollywood cookie cutter churn out week after week.
+Scott Bernard James Newton Howard is unique in that he always creates a suite for the films he scores, so when it comes to scoring the actual film he already has material to work with. This is the suite, therefore it was not used in the actual film. I'm guessing this was probably recorded and produced separately, perhaps in his own studio. So the film studio doesn't own the rights to include it in the soundtrack. Although I can't really answer your question... because I can't seem to find it either.
+Schnurpselbacke1 I think that I will elaborate an Orchestration for Violin and Orchestral Accompaniment (with Virtual Instrument) next months on your Suite. I'm a Violinist, Composer and MIDI Programmer, I love your version of the Suite !!! I have already made a similar job with FLYING KITE by Paolo Vivaldi. :)
I wished everybody could watch the village and the lady in the water in his or her mother language, in good quality and with a good sound system. Perhaps it would make the world a better place.

Very true brother, such people are only psycopaths, lack emotions.
I agree with what you wrote. I believe I understand what you tried to express. This movie is so beautiful and carefully created.
It’s a love story. It’s beautifully done. ❤
Unfortunately the movie was labeled incorrectly as horror, then all movie sites used this label and people got disappointed where is the horror in it? I also started to watch it as horror, then I realized it is a very nice romantic movie, and I still loved it, even if I got something else I expected.
Beautiful movie and sound track.
One of the greatest soundtracks ever written & a great movie. And the most amazing violinist ever!
One of my best soundtracks ever!! Thank you James Newton
Howard
words cannot do this justice in describing how beautiful the violin is in this piece

It deserved to win the Academy Awards.

Defo
Could listen to this ANOTHER 100 times. Never gets old. Oh to hear Hillary Hahn play this live... That would be heaven.

Какое великолепие!! Эта музыка никогда не надоедает!!! Её слушаешь и слушаешь уже несколько лет!!! Большое спасибо тебе Джеймс!!!!!
I love so much this soundtrack and the film.
Your first name is so beautiful, is that an angelic name?
Ich höre das wieder, und wieder, und wird nie langweilig.
This really is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard! Thank you!!
This movie is a masterpiece
JNH really produces a grandiose melody that just resonate with every part of the soul. I could get lost in his music forever.
The violin part starting at 3:50 and going till 4:30 makes me cry! I think about the creation process "Let there be light" from Genesis 1:3... plus everything good that exists including music like this piece that transcends everything and touches deep.
Absolutely, same here: 3:50 til 4:50 is the best part.
Fully agree! Which part of the soundtrack is it from?
How true and beautiful!
👌
oh my god me too! only one of a few pieces that have ever done this :)
This is still James Newton Howard's best score for a Shyamalan film.
This shares the podium with Lady in the water and The last airbender

absolutely !
This helped me through a sad time , thank you
Are you still doing okay?
@@annawinter4465 yh I'm good, time is the greatest magician.
This soundtrack sends me into a well of sorrowful longing for the loved ones I’ve lost.
Goshhhh I feel the pain . Unexplainable the amount of pain and sadness it gives. Hold tight bro it won’t fade but might lighten up with time. Sending u my healing prayers.

Stunning!
I listened to this while reading Frankenstein. It fits perfectly with the descriptions of Switzerland and the melancholic athmosphere
What a piece of art.
Perfección en estado puro, sin palabras.
Una obra maestra.... poniendo música a otra obra maestra. Maravillosa.
Since his work for Elton John I absolutely adore the sensitivity of James Newton-Howard and his own tone and athmospheres he´s creating. Somehow a postmodern Claude Debussy and César Franck ...
I completely fell in love with this music.
Roger Ebert may he rest in peace gave 2 thumbs down on this movie this is the one time I think he was absolutely wrong , Those people did the right thing according to their hearts and consciences if this happened in the real world I for one would say Bravo
film VESNICE jsem viděla snad milionkrát,je ůžasnej a to i díky hudbě...nádhera
Loveley text in the end. Thank you for that.
Must play this one day while I take a run early in the morning in New England.
M Night Shyamalan is legend
I love this tiny part : 7:49- 7: 56
:)
Absolument superbe... Cette musique me transporte à chaque écoute. Ressentir, c'est vivre !
The best music from one of my fave movies
Beautiful work as always by James.
WOW this blew me away
The violin is Hilary Hahn. Amazing WOMAN and violinist! Another young talent that works in the near future might emulate Hillary is CHLOE CHUA
It is a real masterpiece! ❤️
bruh i love JNH so much
Lets say : in a world full of vanity never stop understanding who you really are.
great soundtrack, thanks
Listen to this with rainy mood ;-; the feels..
Sublime. Bello. Gracias.
thanks for uploading that again. i really love it.
I’m listening to this masterpiece and the ads keep popping up to scare me 😳
MASTERPIECE!!!
Reminiscent of Ralph Vaughn Williams, particularly The Lark Ascending.
...and fantasy on a theme by Thomas Tallis, but truly the heir of R.V.W?
What an awesome songs! :)
Parabéns... Muito lindo !
Somehow this score reminds me of the woodlands in New England for some reason.
I guess for a divine reason...
A beautiful score.
i can write to this for hours
Thank you
This movie is beautiful. I wish I could go to the village

Ralph Vaughan-Williams and James Newton-Howard - a certain symmetry for my life there, I would say, or SEE...

Catweasle Yeah but I heard that this one didn't do so good.
This is one of my favorite movies. More complex and satisfying than I realized on first viewing.
love it :)
Sublime. Masterpiece
6:22 es mi favorita
Check out James Newton Howard's latest score here: Nightcrawler Soundtrack - James Newton Howard - Official Preview
grande james newton !!.. calidad de musica detectada ... :D
Bryce Dallas Howard and Joaquin Phoenix had really good chemistry in this movie. I'm surprised theyve only done this one movie together.
I strongly feel the people who are afraid of this world.
10:42-10:54 ❤
❤️👌🏻
I loled. And agreed.
I'm hearing music not on the soundtrack. Where did you find it?

+Will Phillips Music, that's because this suite was made by myself (at home, with Windows Movie Maker). :D
+Schnurpselbacke1 That would also explain it! :D
+Schnurpselbacke1 I think that I will elaborate an Orchestration for Violin and Orchestral Accompaniment

+Stefano Di Perna, thank you very much! I'm really looking forward to your arrangement. :) ... Can we hear your version of FLYING KITE somewhere?
I can hear Jhin humming...
Musica sublime
I wished everybody could watch the village and the lady in the water in his or her mother language, in good quality and with a good sound system. Perhaps it would make the world a better place.
1:19 ^^
YES11 i CAN BE ALL THOSE THINGS IN THE POEM!!
If only the actual movie was this good.
Jhin
