I agree 100%! I myself grew up in Foster Care, and at the age of 27, I still feel like I learn things today, or I think about things that I teach my girls, and think, man.... I didn't know what I'm showing them at that age and I bet if I had parents these are some of the things that should of been tought to me.
    Cool.

(cont.) you must try to understand that the process of healing is not something that is etched in stone. what may work for some may not work for others therefore, we all have to find our own paths. mr fisher is no exeption, i am sure that he still battles w/ the difficulties of his youth, just as every other person who has ever been mistreated. but instead of feeling rejected by his methods, find resolve in the reality that he survived & use that as a motivating force toward your own recovery.

on the contrary, what you expected, is exactly what he wouldn't be. i believe that b/c of the difficult situations he faced, he learned how to disassociate himself from them. if you recall from the movie "antwoine fisher" 1 of the things that cause him so much heartache was his inability to trust & to love. i don't think that his reserved demeanor is in any way a means to deflect his past, but more so a defense mechanism that he developed long before the world was introduced to him. Our Brother is right on point, he's had a terrible life but he didn't forget where he came from. If we are to be correct, one the reason our culture collapsed was due to integration. The so called Black leaders at that time felt that we must sit and be next to white people or the whiteman ice is colder. If we would have maintained segregation, we dam sure wouldn't be in the state that we find ourselves in now. The damage we have suffered since being brought here in chains and destroyed as a people is one of the reasons Antwon went through what he did. If we don't get back to segregating ourselves from our open enemy. Our future will suffer drastically.
