I am not a fan of the SNP but Ian Blackford bless him gave one of the best tributes and speeches for HM Queen that I have heard. Well done that man. A very moving speech indeed.
From 🇮🇪 IRELAND, I wish to extend my sincerest condolences and sympathy to all members of the Royal Family and to the 🇬🇧 British people at this sad time on the recent passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Despite turbulent past histories, Irish people held Queen Elizabeth with deep affectionate regard and respect. King Charles will be a wonderful Monarch and our best wishes for a long and happy reign are sent from your neighbors and IRISH friends today from across the pond.
Absolutely beautiful, heartfelt, genuine and poignant tribute. Most definitely will unify our country and all around the world, at such a time as this for our late Queen Elizabeth II. ❤️🌺💙💗
I normally cannot stand Blackford. His speech today however was utterly brilliant - outstanding even - wonderful that he gave thoughts to Liz Truss having this on her plate just 2 days in….
@@DarthSanguine in other words a commonwealth countries such as Canada. I am an American observer but I tend to favor parliamentary republics such as Ireland is a better system not just compared to monarchy but certainly compared to what we have (a presidential system). That said, In a way I suppose it’s smart because it would allow unionist citizens of Scotland to retain kinship with the rest of Britain if Scotland should become independent and I am of the opinion it will in my lifetime.
I am a firm opponent to Scottish Independence, I love the United Kingdom warts and all. I truly hate the SNP. I am blocked by Ian Blackford on Twitter for ideological reasons. However, this was a beautiful and well thought out address.
For once IB has made a speech we are happy to listen to. Why can't he be like that all the time and talk sense? Government would work better with more humility and respect for others.
I really, really, really like Ian Blackford style in the house of commons. He seems such a wise man who speaks from the heart. In this tribute you can see that. Well done and as you say God save the King.
How can God bless the King if He want the House of King David to be on the throne and also the Stone of Destiny has declared someone else as the Monarch in 2015..
Reunited with Prince Philip? Really? Didn’t realise we were in 1600s still. Would Prince Philip need to be with the queen even after death? He may want to be with someone else if he’s in heaven, no?
A British Queen who descended on both sides from the Scottish royal house of Stewart. Her mother, the daughter of a Scottish lord. Her sister, born in Scotland. And Her Majesty herself, who passed at her favourite home in Scotland.
She was the queen of Scotland and a bunch of other countries as well, not just England. The SNP are not, and have never been republicans. They want to restore us to the Union of the Crowns - the period from 1603 - 1707 where Scotland and England were separate independent countries, but had the same monarch. The same situation as for example the UK and Canada are in currently. This is why I'm voting for them only for as long as it takes for us to get our independence, and then switching to a republican party.
The United Kingdom would have to pay more taxes without the monarchy. If you want a visible reason to like the monarchy, there ya go. Also, she was just a generally good person, and relishing in someone else’s death just because other people liked her seems like a pretty sociopathic thing to do.
I usually can’t stand Blackford, but this was an utterly beautiful speech, truly heartfelt

Thank you.
Appreciate your fine comment
Thank you. Our late Queen loved Ireland, and I share in that love.
A touching and eloquent tribute, I am not a fan of Mr Blackford ,but credit where its due

Not a big SNP fan. But they have conducted themselves in a classy way over this sad event.
Of course they have - they're monarchists, not republicans. They want to keep the king as head of state post-independence.
Crocadile tears, people like you fawning at the feet of the entitled , get a grip

He does talk plenty of sense, you just don't want to hear it.
Well done
I think Ian Blackford is one of the great parliamentarians of his time.
I disagree with his politics, but I agree with your statement
@LiquidSpiral same. Can't stand the snp but take the emotion out of it.

Word perfect. A most poignant speech.
Will she be paying inheritance tax?

Lmao Marilyn Monroe….
What a hypocrite! If he really believed in independence he wouldn't be paying tribute to the English Queen.

The longest he’s spoken without having to stop for a Greggs, he should try it more often.
This is the best day ever. Royal fans' tears are yummy :)
No need to be like that horrible!
Well said this is nauseating she only cut ribbons and wasted good champagne

We had a monarch that served loyally for 70+ plus years. What do you have?
Better to be mourning than being a pathetic edgelord
