One thing I've noticed as a Red fan for decades now, is that they definitely have more of an album focus than most. While they do have some standout individual songs, they are often arranged to be experienced as a whole album. Their newest, Rated R, is a great example of this. Aside from the opening song, Surrogates, and Our Time Will Come, the album itself doesn't have any songs that have individual listening value (i.e., being able to play it on loop for hours without wanting to change the song), but when I listen to the album as a whole, it gets a lot better, and I can listen to the whole album on loop easily. They also do this heavily in the album of Beauty and Rage, which this is from. Each album has a very distinct theme/vibe as well.
Shadow and Soul by far the best on OBAR. But darkest part, imposter, fight to forget, part that’s holding on, gravity lies, all are bangers. Of beauty and rage is by far my favorite RED album
Very solid song but there's definitely other songs on Of Beauty and Rage that are stronger, like Gravity Lies. This album is a concept album that sounds like an epic movie soundtrack when listened to from beginning to end.
Agree. It's not the best track on _of Beauty and Rage_ but it is solid enough and fits the overall theme of the album. The two best tracks on the album are the rhapsodic "Gravity Lies" and the tragically short "The Ever". Looking forward to the next reaction which will be "Sever" Another very solid rock track from _Declaration_ . Not sure if I'm on the having recommend it, but I certainly would have. "Infidel" is also due at some point. That will be fun.
They probably bring the drop-out and putback in again for the full version, so if you wanna get the full experience, you should review the full intended version.
The only real difference between the short version and the full version is the MV length. The short version is more about the song with a shortened version of the story, while the full version is more about the story with the song scattered throughout.
While it may not be the best RED song out there it's still a solid one and one of my personal favorites, especially when sped up (that's true of most songs for me though).

Thanks again for the review David. Thanks for taking my advice on the short version. LOL.
I remember listening to this back in 2015. Was the best song from within that album imo
I remember being so excited pre-ordering this album with the included comic book.
As did I. Although, I went ahead and bought the albums and comic at a concert.

The Warning Disciple live at Teatro Metropolitan, just saying.

I usually do not listen to RED. This song definitely had much depth. One which would be listened to on certain occasions.
1st comment :D
Sounds very cliche to me.
