However, if you read the lyrics, you see that the song is talking to a girl and they are telling her, "Don't mess up my tempo." And yes, part of the tempo in the song is created by the squeak of what is thought to be bed springs. (The underlying theme of the song is a tongue and cheek reference to sexual innuendo.) However, as with everything EXO does, there are duel meanings depending on how deeply you want to interpret the song and MV. The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time, so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc. They also still could be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in their "Overdose" MV. For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times. Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside. You see Chanyeol -- main rapper -- being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted. As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone. Often, when you see a character in one of SM's MVs with blue eyes or different eye colors this usually means they are not who they appear to be. The "Chess game" is thought to be supernatural EXO chess, and I don't think it's a game they are playing, but I think maybe it's something they are using to try to decipher a clue or figure out a way out of wherever the Red Force has them trapped at the moment. It's unclear right now what that scene is really telling us, but I have a feeling things will become clearer in the future as more of EXO's storyline is unveiled in future MVs and as SM's SM Culture Universe storyline continues to evolve. You also see Sehun -- the other main rapper -- on the motorcycle in this MV, which I now think is connected to the scene where we see him driving a motorcycle in EXO's "Lightsaber" MV and sitting on the motorcycle in their new "Don't Fight the Feeling" MV. In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline. Fun fact: EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance because you watched the Korean version, and at this time, because of the political issues between China and Korea, the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version. Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.
The producers/writers for Tempo said a bunch of the other kpop labels came to them asking for a song like Tempo (some specifically mentioning the acapella) for their own artists, but they had to turn them down because 1) they didn't think they could make another song like Tempo that wouldn't just be a ripoff of Tempo & 2) even if they could, they didn't think another group would be able to pull off a song like that^.^

You can never go wrong in exo as they are all vocalists and almost all of them can rap but officially they have 2 main rappers that are slaying.
Their 2 main rappers are also vocalist Chanyoel and Sehun (the black hair guy who rapped first here)(especially Chanyoel is one of the best singer rapper in kpop) Their other 2 rapper Kai(Originally Main dancer and lead vocalist) and Xiumin ( Lead vocalist, lead Dancer actually the ace of the group) Then there is Lay , Originally a lead singer and Main dancer but he has rap songs in his solos(best soloist in China) Baekhyun the main vocalist also rap in their vocalist sub unit CBX. I suggest you to do guides( group guide and individual guides because these guys are huge stars , one guide can't include their achievements and talents alone) The groups you mentioned, most of these groups are so much inspired from EXO as group and it's members (most 4th gen and 2nd half 3rd gen male idols idolize EXO a lot)

Of the members still in the group, Chanyeol was a main rapper, he was supported by Kai as a lead rapper and Sehun. Over the years, Kai does less rap and more vocals, Sehun is now on the level of a main rapper. Of the others, Xiumin has also rapped frequently, especially with CBX, but there is an example of every member rapping if you look for them. That is just rap. This is EXO, they are all capable of anything. Hearing them just go into harmonies a cappella is truly amazing.

Of the members still in the group, Chanyeol was a main rapper, he was supported by Kai as a lead rapper and Sehun. Over the years, Kai does less rap and more vocals, Sehun is now on the level of a main rapper. Of the others, Xiumin has also rapped frequently, especially with CBX, but there is an example of every member rapping if you look for them. That is just rap. This is EXO, they are all capable of anything. Hearing them just go into harmonies a cappella is truly amazing.

ALL THE EXO MEMBERS CAN RAP AND EVEN ARE GREAT VOCALISTS. They mainly have 2 rappers and have sub rapper but they all can lowkey rap.
