This Ibach 160cm grand is exceptionally well designed. It is in an Oxford University college and has been extensively used, resulting in it needing a major reconditioning and some repairs.

Before presenting oneself with these videos thought should be given that there could be really experienced technicians watching & pulling your inexpert knowledge to pieces. Though there is worse online; in mitigation.
As a workshop manager many years ago I had to suffer a new branch manager who had no expertise whatsoever. I tolerated him for 3 weeks then gave in my notice. Told my MD the details and he advised that there was nothing that he could do as they had given him 5 years to turn the business around. After 5 years the branch was closed and the new MD was diagnosed with dementia! Somthing like this happened with a well known piano maker a while back.

Hello Ronald, thank you for your contribution. I wonder if you could be specific about your comments: what is the particular aspect of knowledge that you refer to? As a technician for over 30 years, I'm sure I've still got a lot to learn about the fascinating world of piano restoration, but would appreciate more specific comments.
I take it from a quick search that you are in Christchurch, Dorset, UK and indeed do recall hearing your name before. As we have some clients located near you, it would be I think beneficial to work together and learn from each other. You can also email us directly at info@robertspianos.com.
      Best wishes,
      Marcus Roberts

I've seen your comments on many different UA-cam channels belonging to highly regarded piano technicians with decades of experience where you insult them with vague comments siting no specific grievances, and yet you act like everyone in the trade besides you is a self taught 10 year old. You need to be less critical and consider that sometimes you are wrong and not everyone else in the industry.
You referred to my second favorite piano technician (With Marcus being my favorite) as a "Self taught cowboy" when in actuality he had over 30 years experience as a technician & rebuilder, and even more time spent as a pianist. You need to get off your high horse and consider that knowledge should be exchanged between technicians, not discarded.
