Dario Franchitti announced his retirement from the IndyCar Series on November 14, 2013. A legend to the sport, Franchitti has 3 Indianapolis 500 wins, 31 Indy car wins, 4 IndyCar championships, and is tied for 8th on the all-time win list. He will forever be regarded as one of the sport's best drivers. Thank you, Dario.

As a Scottish person, I always thought it was a real shame he never had the profile over here, but a stand out memory is the CART race in England in 2002. Live on the BBC, Dario took his first oval win. Great scenes from Rockingham

Gonna miss Dario! Always pulled for him in Indycar, CART, and NASCAR! Awesome driver, true champ, and a class act! This really sucks! He would've had another championship in him if it wasn't for the wreck! I truly wish him the best!

I started watching open wheel racing in 1997 when I was just 6 years old. Greg Moore and Dario were always my favourite cars to watch. We never got to see what Greg could of been, but Dario you became a legend. Thank you for always being humble and a role model to myself. Respect!

Is it wrong/weird that watching that brought a tear to my eye? I know he'll be around the track still, but it shouldn't have ended this way. Fate is cruel sometimes, but I know we are lucky to still have him. #ThankYouDario for an amazing carrier, it has been an honor and a privilege to watch you on the track.
