Don't let Naruto cloud your judgement, every core member of Luffy's crew are essential, they each have very detailed backstories and they're own distinct goals. I swear to god, whenever a new Shonen series comes out the girls are instantly compared to Sakura. I get it, but not every author under the sun were inspired by Naruto. Plus, One Piece came before Naruto and Oda actually put effort into his characters.
It's only in the west that people compare anyone to Sakura... because in Japan. Nami has been at the top of the most popular character of anime for many years. Yes... Nami. She beat out Luffy and Zoro for literally decades lol. Only recently has she started to lose her spot to Luffy, Naruto, Goku, Erin, etc.

He has come in at number one in every single popularity poll. Zoro has been number two in every poll except for one of them. Nami did just come in number three in the most recent popularity poll though.

Bleach: 46.6% Filler
Naruto: 43.4% Filler
One Piece: 8.8% Filler
The pacing slows down in some spots in the anime, but you don't get filler arcs. I'd rather some slower pacing than some random ass filler anyday. Also, the pacing isn't even that bad when you're binge watching a 1000 episodes.
I've never seen bleach before but I can't believe it has more filler than Naruto my goodness also do you suggest I watch bleach?

Nami is the navigator, they would literally be lost without her, and she weilds powerful weather tech. Robin can snap peoples necks from 50 yards away by growing arms on them. And she's also essential to the search for the one piece because she is literally the only person on the planet that reads the language that tells them the way.
So yeah, the women in the crew are super important and great characters. Excellent backstories too.

The One piece female character nami and robin are the most essential in the crew. Without nami the crew would have dead multiple times and without Robin there is no way they find one piece. Eventho they aren’t the fight characters they will fight for their friends. They don’t say they are fighters and know their weaknesses. Also they have their own gaols, motivation, backstories and character.

I think it's just a natural wound(edit:scar). He was already put on moments where he exceeds and pushes himself to the limit. If that is some sort of special eye, he would've used it agaimst Kaido. Just my thoughts.

@@alexmeid8111 yep, if we talk about their effect for the main plot, I think we all can agree that both Nami and Robin have much more significant role, especially Robin that obviously will become a key character with her ability to read ponelgyph, meanwhile I just saw Sakura as a supporting character even though initially she was one of the main character, even I feel "closer" with Shikamaru and Gaara than Sakura, especially after the timeskip, however just like what you said before, Sakura is still an expert especially in her medic skills

for the first part of one piece Nami is one of the most valuable person in the crew, she would be able to join much bigger groups with her skills in my opinion

Wonderful reaction!! And yes, there's really not much of filler episodes, the pacing can get annoying at some times, but trust me that it's much much later on in the series and when you're not really focused on it, sometimes you don't even notice, or at worst, u can pick up a manga for that episode or arc. One piece is truly something magical, while it's still a battle shonen and it can get serious and really really dark at times, it still retains the fun, comedy and adventure that you can feel since episode one! I really love both sides of this series, like the fun one, then the dark one. It also really tugs on your heartstrings. One minute you're crying over something you would never ever imagine you would cry over and the next second you're laughing your ass off. Ahh, the world of One piece is just so gorgeous and intricate, so many places, details, factions, world problems (racism, drugs, wars, assassinations, discrimination, poor vs rich, slavery, human trafficking...), Beliefs and mindsets... It's so rich and it's breathing, full of so many crazy, imagination-filled, fun and lovable characters... To answer your question if the women and the guy with slingshot on the crew are useful, YES. EVERYONE IS! AND ESPECIALLY THE TWO WOMEN (the ginger one is a navigator! The best navigator to say! She's one of the most important crewmates. Without her, they'd literally be dead more than one time! And so is the black-haired one, I won't reveal much, but she has an ability or well, a skill, that is unique to her and her only, she's the only one in the world who can do it and without her Luffy would never be able to find one piece! and that's what's so amazing about it! Everyone has their goals, aspirations, Dreams! Their own jobs and tasks to do on the crew! Sure, some of them are weaker than others, but to be fair, the crew is full of literal monsters and powerhouses, someone has to be on the bottom.
So yeah, good luck and I wish you amazing journey my guy! One piece is out of this world, and it made me so attached to it, that it's unbelievable.

It's always been closed since the time skip and he's never opened it, it might be gone, but for all we know he's got a Rinnegan in there and keeps his eye close all the time because it would make him too OP to open it, and he wants a challenge.

If you reeeaaally want to compare the two series... I guess we can say Nami is like a very strange cross between Shikamaru and Temari (but not like Shikadai, she is more life-smarter and not really that much of a good-two-shoes). She has an analitical, logic-oriented mind, something that even Luffy heavily respects (he always takes her opinions in consideration, and she is the one who takes charge of the ship when Luffy can't. Some very serious decisions were left in her hands, and she never let them down).
She and Usopp (the one with the slingshot) are the "normal" people of One Piece. Basically, the you and me of the series. So, when they fight, in special if it's against an insanelly strong enemy, they use mostly their intelect instead of powers or brute strengh. Both of them defeated some VERY big villains on the series only using their own "not so spetacular" skills and smarts. And if you want to know if Nami is strong, well... She actually almost killed, by herself (instead of Luffy), one of the main serious villains of the entire series (one of the four strongest pirates of the world, if you want to know the power level of this person), in a fair and square fight, when some of her own crewmates couldn't even scratch their skin. So yes, not only as the navigator who saved their lives a thousand times, but as a fighter, Nami is a VERY important character.

Nami is actually hella useful and without her luffy wouldn’t be able to become pirate king ever. Its like that with everybody. But her part is extremely essential although she isn’t super strong like some crew members, she is still useful. Yeah she does whoop luffy ass all the time but her and sakura are complete opposites.

One piece female characters do have importance. Nami, the orange haired girl is the navigator. Without her, the crew cant find new islands, and they can never get the to last island, laugh tale. Shes one of the best navigators in the whole one piece universe. Even though her role is navigator, she still fights, shes actually strong, she has a pet called zeus, whos really strong. He was one of big mom's pets. Then, robin is the archealogist. Shes the only person in the world who can read poneglyphs ( if u count pudding then i guess there are 2) but anyway, she also fights. Her bounty is literally 960 million berry or smth. So, without robin, they can never get to laugh tale because the location is only said in poneglyphs.
despite the whole situation in the world, 2022 is a great time to start watching one piece, I've been watching it for 8 years and reading manga for 6 years, I haven't regretted my choice a bit

No Straw Hat is useless, in terms of fighting Nami and Usopp aren't fighting the top tier obviously only Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Jimbei are going head up with the best of them but the other crewmembers can hold there own and even defeat strong foes. What I'm saying is no member of the crew just completely falls off like most of the Naruto squad did.
The reason the openings look like they have filler is because of the fact they interpret the creator’s color spreads in the manga into animation
And it also indicates the theme of the show which is adventure.

The blonde dude with curly eyebrows was going to be called Naruto but said series came out around the time his arc rolled around so Oda changed his name to Sanji to avoid conflicts. Ironically his name did end up having importance later on.
Nami the orange hair girl, isn’t really a fighter she’s a navigator but the powers she can use to fight are actually pretty op. The only real fighters are sanji the chef zoro the swords man and luffy the rest have designated roles for why they are actually on the crew but can also fight just not as well as the main 3.

The slingshot was useful to defeat one of the villains in the previous arc and Nami stole one of the enemy's thunderclouds and used it against the enemy so yes she's useful

nah it's around like 10% eppisode of fillers out of 1000+ eppisodes
1028 current episodes. 93 of which are filler. 41 of which are mixed canon/filler. So it's not bad at all in the filler department. And if you ask me One Piece counts on 2 minute 30 seconds openings and 3-5 minute recaps to drag things out starting 279 episodes in cause that's when it drops using ending credits and songs from then on. It's so worth getting into.
Also the Fight Together opening hits different once you've been watching up to the point that opening finally starts showing.

Oda is a genius, Naruto ain't even close to One Piece's massive fandom. Marvel already gave a hands up on Oda for overtaking them.
One Piece has a few filler arcs, they are all SMALL, like 3-6 eps, with the exception of G-8 Arc, it is like 10-12 eps? But it is one of, if not the BEST filler in any anime. It is truly creative and funny.
One Piece usually does its filler in a different way, It PADS out scenes. Making them stretch out further than are really necessary... At least in many people's opinions.

The reason why there aren’t as many fillers as you might expect (pretty short too, max 4 episodes per filler) is because Oda, the creator of one piece has always kept up the pace and hasn’t taken a break from making the weekly chapters since the beginning until recently for a month break to finish up the writing for the final saga. So the anime has enough main story stuff to keep going.
However apart from the fillers, there’s obviously some pacing issues later on (esp for a certain arc around the 700’s), but imo it’s like that for a lot if not all long running shounen anime. But one piece makes up for that with the overall amazingly written story. Manga has no problem with the issues the anime faces though and is simply amazing

Its pretty annoying if you watch on like every week(especially the people who watch the dressrosa arc when it was still airing every week) but if you binge watch it you dont even feel the pacing issue.
The Ace spoiler is just inevitable, you can never escape it. It’s like the big Death Note spoiler that you can’t escape.
I love it when they use the manga colorspread artworks (chapter covers?) on openings, they usually have the whole crew together and they're colorful and awesome ( 28:16 opening has few of those)

All the crewmates are required. Luffy is the captain, Zoro helps Luffy make decisions and fights. Sanji fights and cooks. Usopp is a sniper, with a very powerful slingshot. Nami is the navigator, she can control the weather. Robin is the most important one currently, she can read an ancient language which the marines are trying to surpress so the past of the world isn't learned. Brook is a musician and a fighter. Jinbei can control water, he fights. Franky is the shipwright, he fixes the ship. Chopper is a doctor. There is one more, but they are only in the manga, so I'll keep my mouth shut. In the anime Luffy and Zoro are close in strength, while Sanji is a bit behind. In the manga Luffy is the strongest, while Zoro and Sanji are almost equal. Don't disrespect sanji lmao.

The filler in it, however, is absolutely atrocious. It's less "official fanfic" like in Naruto and more "lets stretch everything out super long and murder the pacing".

You’ve gotta do Gintama openings 1-21 they’re bangers. Also choosing JoJos, One Piece, and Gintama as to start will be such an exciting adventure for you. Gintama is my favorite anime while One Piece is my favorite manga. I can’t really say much about Jojo’s since I haven’t watched it but I know it’s well loved and looks sick from the clips I’ve seen. I really need to get into that as well tbh.

Barely any filler. 11% and most of it is both good and short. The filler in OP is in later episodes where they squeeze it in with cutaways and recap a little too much.
