The thing about Command strips is that you have to place them where you want them and wait an hour or two before you actually use them. Even then don't stuff anything big into the hook area. It is better to wrap wire around your item then attach the wire to the hook. I did notice that they sell some that are for outdoor use. Very sweet decorations. 🎄🎄🎄

Goal Zero Yeti 200X Portable Power Station is a solar system that you can place behind the tree when power is needed to provide safe power to the Christmas tree. The portable unit could be used year around for camping, power failures, or working outside.
Extension cords should never be placed under rugs or walked on because they can cause fires.
I am not affiliated with Yeti, but as an interior designer I have helped families after devastating fires.

I would advise no cords running under the rug. Keep it visible and it won't get wore out by being walked on.
Won't look as nice but will be safer if just duct taped to the floor.

Some people just seem to hit the genetic lottery. I agree, Lisa looks fabulous for having her newest baby. She eats "real" foods and I don't know if she ever sits. Even when filming she's standing. Ha. I know she nurses that baby plenty so maybe she takes a few minutes to sit down to feed him. But when you have a small homestead and a large family, you have to stay moving!

We lived in an old 1945 home and we never had enough outlets. My husband is a 32 year on the job firefighters. Please do not use an extension cord and put it under your rug. That is a huge fire hazard. I would move your furniture around to accommodate your tree. Always use a surge protector for small things.

Your channel is a port in the storm! I'm 73 and still do huge christmases - decorations and meals, etc. This year I'm yearning for calm so I'm going to put up several trees around my house and decorate them with only lights. Merry Christmas! I remember finding your channel more than four years ago when I was interested in your DIY project for making Scandinavian twig ⭐️ stars 🌟. Over 40 years ago when first married, I began making my own Christmas decor items with hand quilted tree skirt & stockings made from pre-quilted fabrics and using fresh pine boughs, holly and winterberry in pottery crocks. Each year I may sew new items as my quilting skills have much improved over the years and my daughter lays claim to items from her years growing up for her own home. I’m sure your children will grow up with the best memories of Christmas time in the farmhouse with vivid memories of homemade cooking & cookies with hot chocolate, fresh pine boughs, homemade ornaments and the spirit of being thankful and giving. We always made lots of donations to food banks and animal shelters and gift drives for community.
Thank you for sharing your life journey with others.

Extension cords under rugs are a fire hazard because people walking over the rug can cause the insulation on the cord to wear away and cause sparks. I run my extension cords up tight around the door molding or under the window sills and use an extension cord as close as possible to the trim color (white for painted trim and dark brown for the stained wood trim). I use small pieces of packing tape to keep the extension cord tight against the trim.

About the possibility of the tree being dishevelled by curious and excited boys - you could try an activity where you make a large paper tree and tape it to the wall and have them colour and decorate cut out paper ornaments to decorate one of those? That's what I would try if they get happily excited to always decorate. My brother liked that activity the one year we did it. Though, try to avoid glitter. We should have got glitter glue. ha!

Please do some research on extension cords and fire safety. I don't think you are supposed to run cords under rugs -- but things may have changed. Please look into it though to be on the safe side. On a more positive note... I love all your decorations-- especially that red and white ribbon. You are so talented at making things look beautiful. It helps me to see you do it-- I'm learning a lot. :)
