I discovered Schulze when I was 34, was trying to look for something ambient. So happy that I found that name. I keep discovering new tracks that are to my liking, because the discography is huge.
PS I also recommend PIc Nicboy, he is a great follower of Schulze.

Its amazing that he can have an album this good in the mid 70s and then put out something as good as kontinuum like 30 years later. Talk about not losing anything with the passing of time! A great loss. There's a lot of people who haven't heard this stuff and that is a great shame.

His music of the 70s and 80s is maybe better than the more recent cd's. Because there is more worthless singing in the later ones and that doesn't make it better.

Thank you for all your magic, especially your track "FM Delight" which is one of the best prooves that electronic music can be art and which still takes me on a unique, emotional, magical journey every time i listen to it. @ Yes. This isn't ambient music however. "Floating" is very atmospheric, but also has an amazing rhythmic drive to it. Ambient music generally floats around aimlessly and lacks forward drive. Anyway, these classifications don't matter. This album is great. And so is (the best of) ambient music.

I used to say , "Klaus Schulze's music is music of the future..." back in college in 1974 when people around me thought I was strange and crazy for listening to this, "Weird Music..."
Try Klaus Schulze's 70th birthday music edition especially, "Ion Andromeda"
This is not background music like Brian Enos's "Ambient"...Ambient music just hangs around requiring little brain activity. Klaus's music propels the mind in whatever direction the individual listener chooses.

One of the neighborhood families I would visit as a child had this record, and Kluster, and others (probably Can and Neu!) laying around on the floor and such. I would enjoy checking it out, intrigued about these being different than the RS~PF~LZ~GD records my older sister and her friends had.
That family also had a grit-textured plaster ceiling that was perfect for zoning-out while listening to records like this.

unable to bear the winds of change
    blowing here there
    everywhere
    a paradise for ghouls
    one by one they march
    through gateways of hell
    dragging bodies behind

It was a used LP, and I was drawn to the title, the mysterious cover photo, and the fact that each song took up a side.

I can't imagine hearing this in 1976. even in 2021 it sounds fresh and wholly original

I was exposed to this my senior year of high school. I was already into Yes, Genesis, Vangelis, Emerson , Lake & Palmer, Le Orme, among others. Headphones, lava lamp, no lights and Gonesh #2 or #6, and this was my weekend nights....still is all this many years later
