Interesting take on the pocket clip. It’s my favorite pocket clip on any knife I’ve ever owned. I do agree that the finish will be a problem over the long term. The biggest problem with this knife is that it’s too good. It has ruined my interest in the rest of my collection. I rarely carry anything else anymore.
Your thoughts on the pocket clip are interesting, protech does some of the best clips in the industry, they basically make a pocket clips that checks all the boxes for minimalists and EDC lovers.
The tension of the pocket clip is perfect. If you think it is too tight you can bend it out a smidge. Compared to to Spyderco, protech has a perfect clip.
With the purple textured Malibu on the way, I had to see if you had your thoughts on it to see what I was in for when it arrives, turns out I was in luck.
I haven’t tried it for this application, but birchwood Casey makes a product called aluminum black. The name is self explanatory and it may not be 100% match, but it’s fairly cheap and should help to touch up any dings you have in the Finnish where bare aluminum is showing, if you’re worried about it. It’s much more durable than a sharpie and it’s not a paint so you won’t end up with a glob. Just a suggestion. Thanks for the video
Word of advice. Read your local laws that are publicly available or ask an attorney. Do not ever rely on someone on the internet to tell you about laws.
Well of course. and I totally see your point of view man. I'm here to provide real information so that people know what to expect. I have my hard use knives, but I also appreciate craftsmanship and build quality. That's what makes me a collector. I appreciate your comment though. Have a good day man!
Everyone realizes a knife is meant to be used, but when you're a collector, part of your brain can't help but gasp at the scratches. I collect knives and I die a little inside when the finish get scuffed up, dented, or scratched. I do like to use the ones I collect so it comes with the territory. I don't think it's snobbish to care about your knives staying in good condition from a collector's perspective. Think of this like a car windshield or the paint job. I hate it when my windshields get cracks in them or when paint gets scratched off by a rogue shopping cart. Does it make me a car snob if I don't want a broken windshield or scratched paint? No. Cars are meant to used, right? The point is, I can use my car AND care about keeping it from being ruined. The same principle applies to knives. I can buy a cheapo beater knife to destroy if I must use it beyond the role of a knife. Otherwise, I like to be careful with my tools. They will last longer that way, and I get to enjoy all my expensive pieces in my collection. I get your point though. Knife collectors are weird like that.😅
yooo that knife looks so sick, it looks really clean, the shape and everything
Clean=Minimalist design! Thanks for commenting man!

Appreciate you brother! Great video!
My pleasure man! Thank you!
Your axis locks and compression locks don't fall shut? After being worn in a bit mine fall shut easily. Especially the axis locks.
They do, but the plunge/button lock is even easier to engage over the axis lock. Thanks for commenting man!
Hello, fellow Utahn! I'm late to the game, but hoping to get a Malibu eventually. I've been on a Wharncliffe blade buying frenzy lately.
Damnit. You just made me buy one. Thanks a lot
They are hard to get. Can't believe how fast they go.
Its crazy how good this knife is..... Thanks for dropping by man!
What’s the intro song called? I love it. (And the Malibu!)
Would you do review on Protech Acid Wash stain skeletoenized Anniversary PT2AW it's on my list.
Haha Thanks for being very thorough with your comment. I can try to get my hands on one LOL
Simply lift up on the clip a little bit at a time until it's right where you want it..
Scratches and wear to the finish is character...
protech Malibu very good knife
This channel is DOPE
Should not every Malibu have a serial number on the back of the blade? Mine does not have either..
Early for the contest?
Damn do you think it would open in ur pocket?
Not at all! The detent on this knife is perfection. Thanks for for tuning in brotha!

I'm considering doing the same... was it worth it?
Scratch the finish ? You’re supposed to actually use the knife buddy . Don’t be so sensitive about it being scratched up , knife snobs I swear
