I'm fairly certain I overheard one of the mad engineers talking about apparently a "ground based based torpedo". It sounds insane, but supposedly the range is far superior to anything seen before. I don't think he's alive anymore though, insane ramblings of ground torpedos and even small, flying torpedos will certainly get you killed. I mean, how can such a thing exist?
2020 and you still havent learned basic things about WW2? U-Boats were a big success for sea, so they did the same shit for land! instead of torpedos you have guided ATGMs and with that 88 on top good fire support by yourself and also multiple MGs on the top to defend yourself from planes.
Infantry could make this game have a real selling point. A great point of difference for those who want to come to a simulated environment that really tries to simulate combined arms.
Steel fury Kharkov 1942 has inf on inf battles they even have AT rifles to shoot at your tank and the American and German side has at launchers if I remember correctly
This is the first time I have EVER seen anyone in a video, movie or TV show, accurately portraying the single visual circle you see looking through a pair of binoculars. The work is done to a very high level of detail!
In the gunsight, the enemy tank should be on top of the rectangle not inside and if you estimate a range add 200m and you can increase your chances of hits. Got that from German tank manuals. +If you increase the dial sight range much further you get the ranges of heat and he shells as well own ranges for mg. You can use your mg to match up with the mg range in the sight and get your range estimation that way as well but that's a bit slow.
@@Wolfpack345 I think it would be natural to do so, however the zero of the gun is on the top of the triangle, the distance between the rectangle tips is 4 mils if I remember correctly. 1mil is 1m in 1000m distance. A t34 from the front is around 3m broad. Put one triangle tip to one side of the t34 and estimate how many mils it fills up (remember, between two tips are 4 mils). For e.g. the tank fills up 6mils. Take 3m and divide it with the estimated 6 = 0.5. Multiply always with 1000 and then you get the range (it would be 500m in that example). Add 100 -200m or round it up never down if you range the sight (because shooting too far can still hit the target, rather than shooting too short (point-blank range principle)) I got the information from the tiger and pantherfibel (manual) and want to do a video with some friends in a multi-crew manner, because that topic is very interesting.

Your storytelling is excellent. One of these days you're going to have to narrate an audiobook. And as if the intro wasn't riveting enough, the choice of Wagner gave me chills.
I really appreciate the attention to the small details that mechanics put into the panzers interior, they also weren't shy to put small nice conveniencies such as the hatches and all the different visors you can close up.
As far as I know, those sideskirts (called Schuerzen) were more to protect against shaped charge munitions, less so against AP rounds (though it definitely helped) Later, grid fence skirts were used (Thoma Shuerzen), those were only against shaped charges.
These joint assault missions (planes & tanks) are great to watch, incredible atmosphere. And again, my compliments for your montage, the intro had some amazing shots that illustrated the story very well. Looking forward to the following missions. In this mission, the opposition didn't stand a chance, but as you say, I expect that to (gradually) change over the course of the career.

Was kinda surprised to see you in a PzKfw IV f2, but all things considered, seem right. As usual, your normal incredible ability to make the viewer feel as if he is part of the action.
This is the reason why I buy these games even though I don't have a pc that can currently handle it. 1C is so worth investing in. Shouldn't be long and I'll have my flight sim setup again.
At Prokhorovka, and other places in the Kursk campaign, Soviet defenses were formidable. They including reinforced tank positions, as well as interlocking and mutually supporting Anti-Tank fronts. Most AT positions were heavily camoflaged, supported by entrenched infantry, reinforced, hardened/improved positions as well as massive belts of mixed minefields, obstacles, and AT ditches. The visuals from this replay looked more like target practice on a training field, and nothing like what I've read from the witnesses.
04:25 Schurtzen were stand off protection from shaped charge ammunition, ie RPGs. It works the same way as spaced armour on soviet tanks in the 1980s or those slats you see plastered all over vehicles in the Gulf or Afghanistan. Shaped charges make a hole in the armour and spray molten crap inside, spaced armour takes the hit and leaves the actual armour underneath untouched. The Red army used bed springs in a similar manner and the allies used sandbags, logs, anything they could splatter over the tank to give that spaced armour like you see improvised on the tanks in Fury. I've never read this AT rifle theory before for schurtzen in any reference book and it might be supported by how AT rifles are more seen as an early war infantry AT device that was superseded by RPGs.

I enjoy the content you put out, the introductions really give a sense of immersion into the story. I'm not particularly excited for the Tiger, yes it is a good vehicle but I believe the Panzer IV is a better all rounder, however I will look forward to the next one
Yeah I think the Panzer IV will have much more interesting gameplay. As far as I know we only get to drive it in two of the missions. The majority of the series will be in in Panzer IV.
Late ausf g was given the L/48 and judging that it had schurzen then it should be a late g. Also there was an additional 20mm plate added in front of the 50mm, you can see that it is bolted onto the front at the beginning of the video. It was simplified to an 80mm plate around mid ausf g

He would never have beaten the USSR, there's just too much land to hold and the German logistics couldn't handle it. Thankfully there's no realistic way the Germans could've won the war, even though it's always fun to imagine scenarios and play them out in HOI4
@@lptomtom well I like to think that Africa and the Middle East would've been all the solutions to Germany's problems. The front was already open before Russia but it was neglected even though it was important. And with rommel they did quite amazing but with the full German army the victory would be swift. The allies now not having Africa will not be able to control the Mediterranean and the suez canal thus making supply routes from the colonies way harder. Also now being able to support the iranian/Iraqi pro German uprising against the British even more all the oil and power would be easy to get. Malta and Gibraltar would probably be evacuated so Britain would be very isolated.
@Kylem if Germany hadn't surrendered by August 1945 they get nuked instead of Japan based on the "Europe first" policy. They stretched the war about as long as they could have.
I did not expect a team so devoted to planes to produce a more realistic tank simulator than Combined Arms and War Thunder.

Tip:the triangle needs to be put at the base of the enemy, not on it, alsp its possible to rangefind with the triangles but i dont remember how

The Totenkopf death heads division did wreak havoc at kursk in the real deal back in the day the das Reich did pretty well to in there tiger companies

There were never a chance really.The war was lost for the Axis long before Kursk or Case Blue.
He would never have beaten the USSR, there's just too much land to hold and the German logistics couldn't handle it. Thankfully there's no realistic way the Germans could've won the war, even though it's always fun to imagine scenarios and play them out in HOI4
@@lptomtom well I like to think that Africa and the Middle East would've been all the solutions to Germany's problems. The front was already open before Russia but it was neglected even though it was important. And with rommel they did quite amazing but with the full German army the victory would be swift. The allies now not having Africa will not be able to control the Mediterranean and the suez canal thus making supply routes from the colonies way harder. Also now being able to support the iranian/Iraqi pro German uprising against the British even more all the oil and power would be easy to get. Malta and Gibraltar would probably be evacuated so Britain would be very isolated.
@Kylem if Germany hadn't surrendered by August 1945 they get nuked instead of Japan based on the "Europe first" policy. They stretched the war about as long as they could have.
