  • Moolarben Coal, Duratray and Komatsu have worked together to customise trucks at the mine site near Mudgee. Rubber dampens the sound as the trays are filled, resulting in an impressive reduction in environmental noise.
It's another example of our NSW Miners innovating to minimise the impact of mining on the environment and the community. Because it's not enough just to be good for the economy, we want to be good for NSW.
he NSW Minerals Council awards were independently judged by an expert panel, including senior representatives from the NSW EPA, the Department of Planning, the Department of Trade and Investment, the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, and engineering firm Umwelt.
Around 300 delegates attend the annual NSW Mining Environment and Community Conference to discuss topics such as sustainability, mine rehabilitation and air quality.
