    Lots of comments about the music. Sorry folks, if I could change it I would. For now this will just have to suffice. I'll know better next time. Keep the comments coming though, even the bad ones are useful as they spur improvement.

      Your music was fine. Not too loud, not too crazy and so what?! It was fine.

      The music was good! Jaunty and lighthearted, like the review. Bah...ignore the moaners! ;-) Three years too late, but thanks for the video anyway. Liked and subbed.

      Music is fine, not distracting. Just a bunch of whiners. Debating on these 2 products thanks for the honest review from someone who's used both.

      I think the music was perfect for this

    Good overview. Really appreciate the effort to show the graduations inside. My wife, whom I share a stove with quite often, is rather particular about her food and drink. Runny meals will not do!

    I was really entertained by this. The dogs at the end along with the bloopers were a great touch as was the interesting choice of music! Thank you for sharing this and pointing out that not everyone should " beat at their own drum". Safety is a good thing! This feed-back is greatly appreciated! I look forward to watching more videos - Brenda

    OMG! I know this was made 2 years ago, but thank you! I loved every bit of this, including the useful information re: the comparisons and contrasts. I loved the dogs and the alleged outtakes. Thanks for the laughs, too. I needed those.

      Thanks Ruth. I'm glad that my review is still relevant after 2 years. The Micro Mo is still my favorite stove.

      @@gottabyke1 Good to know. A friend of mine upgraded to a Micro Mo. However, I've seen many complaints. It's how I came across your review (research). :)

    Good video review...you actually brought out the main points pros and cons of the micromo. Good job. Deserves more subscribers.

    Great video, thanks for posting. I'm close to picking up one of the Jetboil stoves for motorcycle camping. I'm not hearing enough "advantages" with the MicroMo to justify the $45.00 difference between it and the Flash.

    I have the JetBoil Sol and love it! It is no longer made, but apparently it is about the same as the MicroMo. One thing I like about the Sol is that, when cooking freezer bag meals, and after you pour your hot water in a one Gallon freezer bag, the bag fits nicely inside the pot and the opening of the bag folds nicely over the rim of the pot making it easy to eat out of the freezer bag while nested in the pot. I'm wondering, if I ever need to get a new Jetboil stove, if the MicroMo will still work for this. What is the diameter and inside height of the MicroMo? The Sol is about 4" diam. X about 4 1/2" inside height.

      From the research I have done, I believe that the two pots are identical in size and shape. Both 0.8L pots. REI lists both pots with the same dimensions.

    Interessting, thanks. I'm new to all these gas stove thingies and have a question: under normal temperature conditions if you want to cook (simmer) can't you just regulate the poppet valve manually, using the handle? I mean it is some extra work especially if you are in a longer cooking session but is this too tedious?

    • @gottabyke1
      @gottabyke1  6 років тому +1

      The MicroMo actually has a regulator which provides very consistent flame control. Without the regulator, the flame tends to be quite erratic at lower levels and next to impossible to keep at a consistent level. At least that has been my experience.

    Nice comparison. If it weren't for enjoying coffee in the mornings, I'd go "no cook" hiking!

    • @gottabyke1
      @gottabyke1  7 років тому +1

      Yep, me too. Although I do enjoy a hot meal for dinner. It's also my back-up water treatment but I could easily do something different for that.

    Hey man, will the Flash cup fit on the burner from the micro? and viceversa?

    • @gottabyke1
      @gottabyke1  5 років тому +2

      Yes, they are interchangeable. Either cup will work with Luna, Zip, Flash, Flashlite, MicroMo, MiniMo and Sumo cooking systems.

    Great video, funny and informative! So with the flash you’ll likely not need to bring pots or pans and use mainly MRE’s? So wouldn’t you save weight because of that… no pans… regular food eggs bacon or pancakes etc. What are your thoughts? This is a serious question not banter, I am interested in thoughts and ideas. Thanks 😊

      When I travel solo, I generally stick to freeze dried meals only, so no need for extra pots or pans. In that respect, I prefer the MicroMo for it's weight savings and compactness (my go-to solo pack is only 38 liters). When I travel with my wife, I like to cook good meals to make it more enjoyable for her, so I'm not as weight concious. For this, I like the MicroMo for it's regulated fuel delivery, which makes it much easier to cook without burning.
      Truthfully, I still think the Flash is a great stove as well, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

    hello sir , so did you say the micromo is better for cooking? The flash does is not for making food right ?

    • @percules4420
      @percules4420 3 роки тому

      sorry , maybe i didn't write clear enough. is the micromo is able to adjust the level of heat ? Can the flash adjust its heat

    • @gottabyke1
      @gottabyke1  3 роки тому +1

      The key to the MicroMo is the fuel regulator. It allows fine adjustments in the heat level. In turn, you’re able to adjust the heat from high down to a simmer and everything in between. The Flash is not regulated and therefore, is almost impossible to use for anything other than boiling water.

    You mentioned the igniter on your flash wasn't working. Mine has been playing up recently. I'd be interested to know what you did you fix it.

    • @gottabyke1
      @gottabyke1  6 років тому +1

      Sorry it took so long to reply. The little bare metal wire that creates the spark between the itself and the burner was not close enough to the burner to actually create a spark. I simply bent the wire so it would be closer to the burner and that solved the problem. Jetboil does sell a replacement igniter if it is broken all together.

    I'm cool with the hill billy music... it fits this guy. Tuned it out untill I scrolled down. Good, through video. Just bought my micromo. Upgrading from my BRS Ultralight which I just can't stand anymore...not worth the weight savings.

    The extra stainless steel and the plastic on the flash burner would make it more wind proof
