What could be better, what was new and what did you love or like? What else should we have done, what should we do next time.. should there be a next time?
RyGuy___ B Drone would definitely be cool, would kind of be annoying to players and not good for sound but I like where your heads at. Don’t think a camera under the net would get much
Sick video. This kind of production value could bring in a lot more viewers for roundnet. Keep up the good work Preston, Ryder, and the whole HTR community!
Quality of this video was amazing! Those replays were gold. If it’s worth it to produce a high quality video like this then this is definitely the move content wise.
Love the replays you guys encapsulated serves, defensive positioning and defensive ups, finishes, serve receive, and setting. The different camera angles were great and helped you to follow who was teammates(as that is sometimes challenging for new people who don’t understand the sport). Commentary was great helping you to understand the flow of he game as well as some key points as to why another team seems to be doing better. Stats at the end were a nice touch to illuminate why it seemed to be such a different score. The replay and slow-no shots in between plays helps you understand how incredible fast paced this game can be. Serve ball seems to freak people out, we have both top level servers and serve receivers here. You can see Caleb and Preston were very very good at serve receive and recovery sets allowing them to finish or put away the ball where it made it tough for Josh and Kenny to play defense. Not that the defense wasn’t incredible. In game one you see Kenny in a phenomenal defensive position and as he opens up the ball goes in between his body and arm something you would only see on a slow motion replay and that was fun to see. I really appreciate the time, effort, and quality put into this video and feel there are few things to change. The sport is growing so determining how much you explain is challenging, the time you have in between serves to cut to a replay is really tough (that being said you did a great job slowing down and speeding up the video before second serve), David and Olivia were fun to listen to and helped you understand what was going on, unfortunately that may not happen every time wtb different commentators, but having the right ones really can help the audience. Overall, terrific job, much higher quality than even 2019 nationals in my opinion. Very similar to 2018 summer spike, but more replays and close shots vs. all boom lift shots (boom lift shots are pretty great though to see that 45 degree birds eye view of the net. Obviously, that is required some big resources and I am very impressed at this video. It’s so nice to have something that isn’t one point of view from a 4 and a half ft. GoPro. :) Big shout out to everyone involved in making this happen. I feel like high quality video makes it that much easier to share and help others find excitement in what has been said (sadly) as a boring sport to watch. Thanks for putting this out there.
My favorite part was the slomo replays. Something to improve on I think would be the announcers getting more hyped about the game to hype up the audience. Overall well done. P.S. Preston you're welcome for the idea of that lean serve on your right foot that you critiqued me on ;)
This was very fun to watch! The commentary kept the game moving right along in the slow spots. Maybe for commentary, spend more time explaining roundnet, fundamentals, and terminology, in case viewers who are new to/unfamiliar with the sport are watching. The instance I'm thinking of is when they said one of the serves was "lippy." My dad happened to be watching right then and he was like, "What's lippy??" lol! Also, the camera angles and slow mo replays... LIT. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Awesome content ! I could see one or two changes, no big ones tho : - For observers, camera on the chest instead of the head would allow a better angle (more similar to the main angle) and also better stabilisation (even tho it wasn't a problem here) - For David's microphone, I feel like we had a bit of echo (most likely coming from Olivia's mic). Maybe lowering the sensitivity of the microphones, but increasing the output volume would help ? What was awesome to me is the great balance between slo-mo replays and no replays at all, it really fills the gaps of the game.
So nice! Loved the replays and the commenting. How hard was this to produce (like how many hours did this take to put together ultimately)? And was this done live or in post? A few things that would be cool... 1. Stats (Aces, first serve ons, double faults, defensive gets, break points, etc.) but IN GAME, instead of post game/halftime. 2. Color commentary on the players, again, in game.
The roundnet stats app needs a plugin where the commentators can see the stats as they come in instead of after the game. I can tell you this was edited in post (mainly the slow-mo), but the commentary was done live.
I'm a huge fan of this format. I just recently started editing/recording the games between me and my friends. I'd love to incorporate some of the stuff from this video into mine. If you've got a excel template or a template for whatever you used for stats, I'd love to use it for our games. It's better than what I did for our last game where I kept stats. The whole video was very aesthetically pleasing. Looking forward to more. (Especially a tutorial video for Preston's game point serve. Yee-Yow)
@@HOWTOROUNDNET Is it for Apple or Android? I can't find it in the Google Play Store Edit: I found it on the Apple App Store. I'll figure something out to get it on my phone.
this is awesome! so much easier and more enjoyable to watch than anything I've seen before. Love the replays and different camera angles, although a couple of the angles are a lot better than the others. Stats are also awesome! I would like to see replays on all serves that are pockets/rollups. Also I would like to see a bit more polished commentating. Less play by play and less talking in general.
Something that would be cool if you Mic'd the players. Would be cool to hear the talk! Also think you need a close up cam on the serving player right before they hit
That would be cool, its hard with the commentators also talking at the same time but would be cool to sprinkle in here and there. Close up would be cool though would not want to get in the way too much of the play haha.
How To Roundnet you just need a camera with a long lens or zoom... no reason to get in the way. Also commentators can stop talking if they see players talking to each other, like in football they go silent before the play so the audience can hear the quarterback
Is it just me or does boysterous seem to not get many pocket calls but the other team gets called often against them that to me seems pretty questionable
Shouldn't be that hard to follow along once you know their names. Preston is the big tan one, Caleb is his parter. Kenny is the shorter one with the hat and Josh is his partner. Hope this helps homie.
What could be better, what was new and what did you love or like?

Transition wipes
Shot from under the net or a top down (drone) cam. This was sick to watch tho.
RyGuy___ B Drone would definitely be cool, would kind of be annoying to players and not good for sound but I like where your heads at. Don’t think a camera under the net would get much
Enjoyed it a lot, I would like to see more video shots from the observers with their head cameras👍🏼
@@LucasPletzJ Glad you like that angle, well cut to that more next time for ya
this was dope. replays were super well done and there were so many angles. (aka, nice)
Christian Anderson aka, thanks 🤘🏾
Just what the sport needs! The well produced replays highlight the skill of elite players that people new to the sport might not see live.

Isaiah Balter thank you for the feedback! 🤘🏾
NHZ changes everything, would love to see this type of special productions with NHZ : )
Really Nice! Awesome to see high level spikeball with some good camera angles and good commenta.. do it again 👍👌
I actually laughed out loud when I heard Olivia say her famous lines “can’t get it up, can’t get it back to Caleb.”
I heard it’s being made into a song 🤷🏽♂️ @michaelhsu
Ryder Rivadeneyra I can’t wait to hear it😍
It’s on the to-do list. Currently working on four different projects 😂

Have u considered playing no 2nd serves to reduce aggressiveness of serves and this promote more rallies?
Woah that’s a good idea... seven feet away in new rules is a step in right direction thoufh
The problem is without aggressive serving the return is to easy, because serves can’t have the same variance in direction as a normal possession.
Wow. Great video and production quality. Def do more of these!

Great stuff guys. More of this :)

nice to see caleb in cleats finally

This was just insane, obviously next next level but I think the difference in contrast between Ryder's camera and the observer's was a little weird
Yea, that’s why I didn’t cut to it too much. Next time I’ll duck tape a DSLR on Coleman’s head to up the quality haha
Ryder Rivadeneyra if ya need another camera man tho 👀
Tucker Judkins I would use you 😬
i can be camera man too ryder!😂
shout out to preston's lean serve

Commentating is definitely harder than it looks, I though they did great. More replays though, Got it!
Hey quick question... on the serve, do you have to stand 6 feet away from the CENTER of the net or the RIM that is closest to you??
6 feet away from the Rim that is closest to you
I would consider 5:40 rim. Ist it no foul if you hit the rim from the inside?
I would agree that that one was probably a rim, even the two greatest observers in the world miss calls sometimes :)
would love a video explaining rules and how tournament play works
Whats does break vs broken in the stats at the end mean?
I'd also like to know this.
A break is when the serving team gets the point, being broken is if you are receiving and lose the point
Something that would be cool if you Mic'd the players. Would be cool to hear the talk! Also think you need a close up cam on the serving player right before they hit

Are there any rules on how tight the nets are on US competitive games?
No Rule for that
@@HOWTOROUNDNET Do you guys personally have any rule of thumb or preferences for that?
Where do I get that spikeball elite merch??
Kasethe Ace qualify for elite 😬🤘🏾
These are #2 and #4 teams? Yikes
Title typo
Nice production, but too much serving and too short rallies
would appreciate it if you were to throw in the first and last name a little cuz you guys only use first i dont know who you are talking about.
Shouldn't be that hard to follow along once you know their names. Preston is the big tan one, Caleb is his parter. Kenny is the shorter one with the hat and Josh is his partner. Hope this helps homie.
On 4-1 with the knee block, that's technically an interference and the offense could have called a reserve on that lost point?
The hit was a Rim
Dam y’all don’t even look like u tryin
