    Hello everyone, I'm 🍔
    The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) NKJV
    14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
    20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
    24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
    26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
    29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

    I think tools, medical supplies, guns or all that stuff collecting dust in your home will be more sought after if SHTF. People will be trading stuff with others that they can use. I think people with massive stacks of silver or gold will become the first targets in a lawless society. Even if you own a gun, you will be outmatched when there are 2 or more people lying in wait outside your door.

    Silver is a vote for the future and for technology and gold is safety against the government and the currency collapsing. I find gold as being more stable but therefore I use it as a savings account and a more shorter hold. Silver is a longer hold because it is less stable, but it has more potential than gold, because of its industrial need.
    With the barter, it's hard to break off $50 worth of gold to buy something, or $20 worth of gold to buy something, so that's the point on gold being too small at a small dollar amount as far as barter goes, but gold can't hold a candle to silver when it comes to industrial uses.

    • @azwelke2638
      @azwelke2638 5 днів тому

      When they used gold as money in the United States, on the gold standard, they still had silver coinage, because it is hard to break off small amounts of gold for small purchases. And that's where silver comes in for monetary use.
      If you try to buy something for $30 with gold, and you accidentally break off $40 worth, it's gonna be hard to give you $10 worth back. It's going to be a mess.

    Uhh... I prepare. I'm fairly ready as I can be for a hurricane, an economic collapse, a short term or prolonged grid down situation. Are you saying I don't like my country if I have metals, you know, gold, silver, lead in case of turmoil?
    I love all the creature comforts our culture in the US offers, and prefer it that way. But because I prepare, do you actually believe I look forward to societal upheaval for personal justification? Not so sure you're considering all the rams my friend... And caution is everything when it comes to trading, electronically and in person...

      Right on! USA is the best country the world has ever known. I love AC, toilet paper, gasoline, TV, and being retired.
      We'll likely never have to live like our pioneer ancestors, bartering, hunting, farming, gardening, fishing, backpacking, making fire, purifying water, shooting enemies, hiding from strangers, etc. But these are timeless skills which should be learned and practiced by every person in every era, all over the world. Teach your children as grandparents taught you.
      Some even enjoy such skills as a hobby. Ditto with stacking shiny bits of metals. Might even come in handy eventually.

Your friend did not try to barter his car he tried to sell his car. sorry that he lost his life. and where do you live where booze is better then silver!!! I was trained to be prepared for all contingences that can happen no matter how slight of a chance of it happening. We prepare for everything and we leave no one behind. The title is definitely click bait. And yes i would agree about alcohol being more valuable than pm's if it really got so bad we have to barter. The overwhelming majority of the population (U.S.) doesnt give a $hit about silver. Gold maybe. You know who else doesnt give a $hit about silver? Someone trying to get food or water to survive. Stock up on what you or your family will need. Also, things like alcohol and tobacco, even cannabis would be in great demand if things were dire. I hardly drink and wouldnt want to drink in a situation like that. But i have a couple bottles id part with for many other things depending on my needs. Sure, silver or gold could be the universal medium of exchange, but only if it is adopted by people. If 85% of the population doesnt possess silver, i doubt theyll trade their food, water, ammo, med supplies etc for it in a crisis.
