I really like you. The way you're so humble, and always keep moving despite the adversity. I couldn't even imagine how you felt when your violin's neck broke. I would've died if it happened to me. Also, you're right. You can always make any violin sound good, within the constraints of the instrument of course. I think yours sounds good, and would've never imagined it was only $3k. Why would you get hate for it? I've heard $20k instruments that don't sound as good as yours. Sometimes the line between price tag and quality can be blurry. You just need to know what to look for on an instrument and their makers. Just keep doing the amazing job and content you do. Much respect. Also, the strings on the Rosenblum are Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold.
The cannon definitely sounds "new". The sound is not thick as your violin. But it sounds higher price than your violin the more you play higher notes and the cannon has a more complicated sound, more colour to it.
It's kind of hard to tell the difference since the reverb of the audio of this UA-cam video makes it difficult to tell the difference but I think I like the tone of your violin over the more expensive one. Perhaps a different microphone would be a helpful choice.
Things that jumped out to me: YOU like the feel and setup Mio Cannone and It's brightness. The higher register seems to be the big question mark. Some sounds you like, some you don't. Your violin doesn't come across as loud but I wonder if that could be the strings. Overall the statement you made about the Mio being new and needing time to be played seems to be important. it's New! New instrument new strings. Over time it might not be as bright or maybe even brighter, hard to tell right now. As far as which one to go for it seems like the moments when you had the big smile and stated "oh I like that!" tells a great story. Love the videos!
Not much difference. I expect the $20,000 violin to be really sonorous and "full open" sound, but it has a "partially closed" sound. Maybe like you said it's still a newly made violin.

The more expensive one seems to have more resonance, definitely brighter.
Both sound great to me! My violin was $350 lol...
Thanks ☺️ for sharing this awesome 👏 info . You are pro and talented 🤗
thanks so much!

thank you so so much! :)
The new one sounds brighter and perhaps harsher? I just prefer yours.

What Peter Infeld strings are you using there are blue, red, platin…
I think your violin sounds softer.
just the normal PI strings! and i agree!
You guys! Don't forget the price of her violin was 15 years ago and with the inflation now, it should cost at least 7,000$ for that violin.
We would have to be there with her to really hear the difference.
Having just listened to 3 $8000 VS on Whitehorse channel maybe canone a bit too proud of that one. Megan's won this one imo.
Megan, I like them both. But I don’t think that the Cannone is $17,000 better than yours.
Canonne has a fuller sound in my opinion
Your violin sounds better-The a really sings.
