Victoria van Lennep and Guillaume Pousaz have both built multi-billion dollar businesses while raising little to no external capital. Victoria’s Lendable - a company founded in 2014 - had raised only £4m in equity before reaching unicorn status in 2020. Similarly, Guillaume’s company Checkout.com hit and exceeded a unicorn valuation after nine years of bootstrapping when it set out to raise its successful Series A in 2019.
