To be able to bring puertican dishes & traditions to my home in Texas brings me a lot of joy. Since I left my beautiful puertorico young thank you so much 🙂 keep up the good job
Honestly, this is one of my favorite desserts! But, I’ve never made the cake mix from scratch or added the sour cream for extra moisture. Looking forward to doing that. Thanks!
Hola again 👋👋👋. I've never made this but I do remember eating it when growing up!!! I will definitely try this. Looks so yummyyyy!!!!👍🤗 thanks guys, always... take care.
No Keila pero estamos trabajando en poner algunos videos en español. Tenemos algunos videos - Arroz con gandules, ensalada de coditos y tembleque - en español ahora mismo.
Do this bums me out totally my husband's diabetic and that's way too much sugar while I'm going to see if I can tweak the recipe and do it with some Splenda but I don't think they make Splenda brown sugar man thanks anyways Joe it's beautiful and looks very appetizing just too much sugar overload for us good looking out though
Hi Lisa, Definitely not the recipe to share with your husband as is. Truvia has a brown sugar blend (www.target.com/p/truvia-brown-sugar-blend-bag-18oz/-/A-53223582?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012732781&CPNG=PLA_Grocery%2BShopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Grocery&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9011480&targetid=pla-508965787366&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAv6yCBhCLARIsABqJTjZetQD4T1g00mUuC2EvSD4L2A6PMLW1nTOTgG6fhfzljnmSrFOfqHMaAhmiEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) that you can give it a try. I would also recommend you use either fresh pineapple or a low sugar can and omit the cherries. Try reducing the sugar in the cake mix to 1/2 cup or substitute with splenda. Let me know how it goes!
Hi Mia! I am sure that it made it to Puerto Rico as part of the American influences but it has surely been adopted in Puerto Rico as a go to cake to bake at home.

They do make splenda in brown sugar. The thing is you cant mix brown and the white sugar.
This not a typical Puerto Rican dish. It's American.
