“Oh, Chloe…if only you were here…you’d know what to do…”
While Buck Cluck may not be the best father, I feel bad for him since he lost his wife…he just feels lost as a single parent, and just wants to be there and help Chicken Little through the toughness. He may not be the best, but I wouldn’t call him the worst. Single parenting is a lot of pressure (I’m not a single parent but I’ve seen some). Buck revealed at the end that Chloe was good with things like this, but he was gonna need a lot of work, but he wanted him to know that he loves and cares about him.
I agree. I heard from reviews and in a wiki called Loathsome Characters Wiki that he's one of the worst parents, but he doesn't look that terrible to me. I think all single parents sometimes try to struggle to understand with their children. It is hard.
You know, I actually agree with you, what you said, it makes sense, maybe I was a little bit hard on Buck, but now I can see what the pain, the struggles and the grief he tries to process through. I can see a lot of single parents in this same situation and understand what they are going through. So from now on, I will sympathise with Buck in the future.
One of the rare covers that actually may outshine the original.
Agreed. Artie's version was quite solid, but his voice never struck me as the best one for this truly great song. This one is going into my rotation in place of that one. I really love this!
In loving memory of Gene Deitch 1924-2020
All I know part hit me with that high pitch 😩😩😩
That middle verse was _not_ in the movie.
...i-it's amazing.
Jimmy Webb is an incredible writer. He wrote this in the early 70s (or maybe earlier) and Art Garfunkel's recording of it hit #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1973. Some of Jimmy's other incredible songs include Galveston, Wichita Lineman, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, MacArthur Park (huge hits for Donna Summer, Richard Harris and Waylon Jennings!), Worst That Could Happen, Up Up and Away, Where's The Playground Susie, Didn't We?, The Highwayman, The Moon's A Harsh Mistress and If These Walls Could Speak. Classics all!
I had a simulation in my mind while listening to this song.
It was in the years humanity had been erased from this world, all but me. I was in the military back in the days when they're still around, wearing a gas mask and a helmet, and all the other
things a soldier would wear. After walking around in the city I once knew and fond off, I found my grandpa's office that, what the calendar had once shown, opened in 1985.
I walked in, went up the stairway because the elevators don't work, and ended up in the 15th floor. Walking around in the trashed hallway that leads to what was once his office, I opened the door
and to my surprise, looked like as if nothing happened to it. Everything was in good condition in there, just the lights are off. I sat down on a chair as I looked around the office, and the flashbacks of my joyful memories as a child flows through. I opened my mask, and it's here I played a recording of this song I found on the floor near the chair. As I played it, I took out the photos of my family and the new family I started. It's there for the first time in years, I cried.
As the song ends, I put my mask back on, and just looked out from the window. It ends there.
This song reminded me of my late grandmother whom I loved so much, back in my childhood days sadly passed away on Mother’s Day of 2008, 15 years later it’s still hard to accept it, especially the song when he said the endings come to fast and they pass too slow, I totally agree, even after 15 years still it’s too hard to not think about it especially at 2:36, that’s when I burst out crying remembering my grandma, even until today 💔😢😭
On September 20th 2020 my great uncle passed away from a heart attack and I was so heartbroken I couldn’t eat or sleep for weeks and I would Just listen to sad songs all day and cry nonstop he was the coolest guy in my dad side he loved to make Chex’s mix and he was a huge fan of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago cubs I keep a picture of him to remember him I love you uncle Rick😢🥺
Ahh, the good days. 😊
I'm in love with this beautiful song. Make me cry sometimes...
IT REALLY ALLLLLL IIIIIII KNNNOOOOWWWWWW 😫😫😫😫😫
This song gave me axiety, this song gave me depression, but no matter ehat it gives me, I will always love this song down in my heart. This song isn't just a song from Chicken Little, this song holds the truth. I don't care if other singers sang it because this is emotional and the others just don't feel the same. I only believe John Ondrasik sang this more emotionally and powerful. Hate this comment all you want but I will say this song is emotionally sad and sorrowful and that's what makes it the best song.
I Love This Song 💞❣️

Poor Chicken Little. His mother died and he was an outcast, nobody believed him when he was trying to do everybody a favor and warn them about the danger, he's always being bullied, he was blamed for things at school that weren't his fault, his friends aren't really helpful enough, and his father doesn't seem to understand how he feels! Gosh, what a life he's had! I would've been even more upset than Chicken Little was if I ever felt that way!
Damb… 🙁
@Bride of Bronze Eye, or Science Princess
I totally agree, this movie is underrated. Chicken Little has a great message and soundtrack and it was even one of my favorite movies growing up! 😊
And Sing and Sing 2.
He just wanted to be the hero both in the public eye of the tow and
public eye of the theater.
I always believed chicken little.
