how about the mascot eyes? are you able to see from mascot eyes if created it as mesh vision window ? if the mascot eyes higher than your eye level, you can put some soft stuffings such as sponge inside of helmet, so your eye level can be lower to see from mascot mouth, if the neck exposed in this way, add a round fabric curtain around mascot head. need a guider when made performance if the mascot vision is limited
