Instead of tape...have you considered some small neodymium magnets? The tips shouldn't have much stress on them during flights. With my two piece snipe dlg wing, I have forgotten to tape the joint a few times. Have never had the wing come apart during a hard launch
I understand the role of tape is to prevent higher pressure air from below the wing to leak to the upper surface and ruin the wing performance in the process. It's secondary role is to keep the wing tip from flying away in an event of a midair collision that would spin the model and create some centrifugal force that could eject wing tips. Happened to me more than once ...
How do you get the tips to go on so easy. I have a hard time with my Explorer when they get less the half an inch from mating up there is a lot of resistance?

In your opinion do you reccomend taping entire bottom surface?
@@flightcomp Up to you. I started doing it after I was forced to leave one wingtip somewhere on a thorny hillside ...
🐨👍 nice plane . I clean the taped areas sometimes. stop build up of sticky goo. Keith Australia

They just fit well. I have had other models that needed sanding on wing joiners. I wet sand with 400-1000 grit paper.
Try a smaller plane! just kidding nice video.
