One of the best couple in 21st century, I am really happy for them. But comments section is awful, what you are asking is "why would a royal marry a black when he could have anyone?" Tonya Matthews I’ve studied the British monarchy for years and one thing I’ve learned is that the British people are ruthless. They will tear her apart. If you compare her to Harry he seems a lot more authentic and down to Earth (in the interview). Diana was loved because of this quality, her ability to connect to everyone. Even the vocabulary she’s using is pretentious. I feel badly for her, because of the scrutiny she will now be under .they’ve only been together a year vs Kate had 10 years to prepare but I’m sure she’ll get the hang of it soon.

We watching this after over 4 years. Although I was happy and excited for Harry I thought it was strange the way she would lean back from her waist at the end and I was thinking that looks weird that's something you would do on the red carpet. This was awkward to watch. Way too fast on the engagement... I can tell the pressure was on. Is she really ready to be with a royal family who has no experience but ancestry. 1 year compared to Kate and William waited until they were ready after 10 years. Wait until the press comes and spends more time with the royals and stress of the countries political issues. Meghan has a lot to learn than just being swept up from romance. I just don't see how this would last. No, I have nothing against Meghan as a person. They just don't make sense as a couple. They are still in the first phase of a relationship and that is not rooted in reality. Infatuation stage. They have not been together for long, and for quite some time it was a long distance relationship. He understandably seems taken by her beauty and sweetness, and she seems to be taken by the whole "fairy tale" aspect of it all. For Meghan, this will be a huge transition. Going from being a working independent woman, free to express herself, to Mrs Prince Harry, having to abide by rules about what she can do, say, wear, and dependant on her husband. Away from everyone and everything she knows and loves. It puts incredible strain on a relationship. I would be very surprised if she was happy living this life. And having Harry is not going to make up for it all. But hey, good luck to them

Some are wondering how a descendent of slaves could be the first American in the Royal family. Remember it was African American slaves (who by the way were biracial by then) that helped the British keep Canada from being taken by Americans in the War of 1812. Perhaps her Highness, Queen Elizabeth is aware of this historical fact. (Another historical fact: The War of 1812 in part prompted the now infamously racist verse in the US's Nat'l Anthem where the writer, Key, derides the slaves for having the audacity to seek freedom by way of helping the British). Just something to think about.
