Labyrinth being in jungle zone makes more sense than spring yard zone because a jungle is more natural so it makes more sense how there is an ancient labyrinth underneath.

This series *proves* how much the 8 bit "Sonic 1" exclusive zones should be recreated i 16 bit and merged into the 16 bit "Sonic 1".
