Okay, so I’m pretty new to all this. Can anybody explain to me what the purpose is for the mesh stuff at 3:15? And also what it’s called?
It is to help the sheet rock mud (the mastic) adhere to the wall. you have to layer it very thinly but, thick enough to cover the tape, which is why they go to bigger knives (the spatulas) each time they show it.
