From the daughter of an RN, the granddaughter of a WW II Medic and the stepdaughter of a surgeon: One thing nobody is teaching is unbelievable to me. When you go to surgery you scrub under and rinse those nails!! NOBODY ON UA-cam OR TV BRINGS UP GETTING UNDER THE NAILS OR KEEPING THEM TRIMMED AS LOW AS IS COMFORTABLE. This is not the time for manicures and long nails. Try getting out in the dirt in your garden and you'll see later just how much work it takes to get the dirt out of the creases and under your nails even with a great nail brush. Imagine the virus and bacterial particulate matter that is invisible to the naked eye. It's also not about how LONG--though that is important. It's about getting every single place as well and rinsing thoroughly.
