    If a is an element of Z+, how can the answer not be an integer?

      Also, ℤ+ is usually referred to as ℕ.

      @@thomasr2472they are different, the natural numbers include 0, while the positive integers don’t

    How's the answer valid? if log2(3) = 1.58496250072.... which is irrational let alone an integer.

    Was the question not copied correctly?
    If a ∈ ℤ, a > 0, then there is no answer.
    If a ∈ ℝ, a > 0, then your answer is valid.
