Thank you so much for these videos, are there any scripts that we can use to review our practice? Just to make sure if we understood and replied correctly Also, what would be the proper translation to "waterfront resort" if I hear it correctly?
Welcome, there are scripts to the newer customer service videos on Patreon but not for the old ones. All the medical videos have scripts. Resort can be intepreted as centro turistico, the translation would be, Centro turistico Waterfront.
Hi! In real life conversations, don’t they just use shorter segments in order to give the interpreter time to convey the message to the other part? Or is it always like this, with long segments?? For example, the CS Client asks for the Credit Card NUMBER, CARDHOLDER’S NAME, EXP. DATE and 3 DIGITS AT THE BACK all at the same time 😅😅 Shouldn’t this be requested like separetly in a real conversation??
Depends on the speaker and the interpreter. Sometimes neither minds sometimes both do, sometimes one has to ask. Interpretation is personal but a great interpreter knows the limit of his abilities and always strives for high accuracy. For some this means shorter segments but not for all. Short segments or long segments don't matter. The only thing that matters is that you represent the speaker and that you convey every part of the ideas they share. Having said all that, this is a school of long segments. I have to practice what I preach for its all I know. I teach long segments because I love them and it's how I learned. In the end you personally have to sculpt your own style, this is just one of many and as long as they all provide high accuracy Interpretation they are all valid.
Can anyone provide an interpretation for “ay no que horror. Imagínese que me hubiera confiado y no hubiera llamado (9:38). Since this is interpretation, could one deliver the message in a different way, like “good thing I called in” for example.
Yes, remember that in interpretation we interpret ideas not necessarily word for word. A possible interpretation might be, Oh no, how awful! Imagine if I had trusted and not called.
15:04 "...with cash at a speedymart close to you." a speedymart is a convenience store, like a 7eleven. She's giving her the option to pay with cash at that store if she doesn't have a debit or credit card.
Hi, it is the accent that makes it difficult to understand, but she says, “no ni se preocupe me imagino que la tecnología no es tan perfecta como decimos y siempre pueden existir fallas”. Have you already tried our brand-new Tuesday Terp Challenge? ua-cam.com/video/_dcwcDj-Ko8/v-deo.html
@@Interpretyourworld okay 👌 I did not mean to sound critical, because you make excellent videos. It is just frustrating trying to improve at comprehension, but you are of help!

Thank you IYW. Excellent content. Following a good note taking technique resolves any accuracy concern.(Personal opinion)
Always a pleasure. I agree with you an excellent note taking technique and application should give excellent accuracy.
Happy Interpreting everyone

I'm having a HELL of a time with note taking. :O But nice video!

They so speak long sentences most of the time unfortunately, just few people give short segments. That’s the reality…

Recuerden aumentar la velocidad del video y nunca pausar o regresar para que la experiencia sea un poco más real!!!
Hi everyone. I didn’t grasp the third payment method. Did she say speedy meter?
I’d appreciate some input. Thank you all
I think I heard Speedy Mart, I googled it and it is a store.
@@yam367 ohhh thank you so much.
Speedy mart is correct, thanks Yam.
I do not understand the 3rd payment method. I know it is about cash but I do not comprehend what the CS lady is saying.

Recontra argentina la piba.
Como traducirian al español " you bit me to it" del minuto 13:15😅
En realidad, es, “You beat me to it”. La traducción seria, “Me ganaste” o algo similar.
Hi! I am having a hard time understanding the customer at 1:32. Something about fascists??

It's an argentinian accent
FaSHas 😅😅
I don’t see how this is helpful if there are no subtitles for the Spanish or the correct examples provided for the English.
