Thank you so much for posting! I struggled removing the connector from the sensor. There a "clip" that comes out, once that is out you can squeeze it a bit and pull it apart. Hope this helps someone. Thank you again friend!!
What are you talkin about in this video it does not show where is the sensor located at all the most important is where is the location of it the video does not show it at all
Looks great, I just did valve cover gaskets on mine, and was thinking this could use a good cleaning. I am completely confident and not worried one bit about using your method. 👍🏻. I’m sure you know this already, but 07 was the first year they move the knock sensors to the bottom of the block on the 5.3s. All the knock sensor worrywarts can calm down, they get a lot more water on them driving in the rain than what you did.
Appreciate the video
I know these engines require 2 knock sensors (07 Tahoe, 5.3, Flex fuel). I’m just going to go ahead and replace both. Is the the sensor identical on both sides? My local parts store isn’t differentiating a left/right side sensor. Just wondering.
@@canamsledder Thanks much! $45 for the peace of mind. Worth it. Been getting irregular knock sensor codes.
Hoping mine is in the same spot when it fails. (Also a 2007) No code on mine, I saw some videos suggesting they go bad frequently, and to be honest I didn't even know what the guy was saying; did he say NOX sesnsor? Like Nitrous Oxide? Quick google search cleared that up, but not how to replace it. Thanks for the video.
I have close to 300,000 miles on my Avalanche and have only replaced it once so far.
What was the vehicles issue? I'm looking at an 08 suburban that stalls and has knock sensor code.
If you like the truck, I'd put a knock sensor in and see if the problem went away. They are cheap enough and easy to do.
I have 2007 chevy Avalanche... thank you for this video. I just fixed my knock sensor, my question is, is this the only knock sensor?
There are two. There is another in the same spot on the passenger side, right in front of the starter. But if that one is bad, it should give a different code.
It hasn't thrown a code yet, but I bought an extension bar just in case, I will be watching the rest of your videos. Saved me alot of headaches lol.
Just have mine from pull a parts,, lots of compatible GM take mine from a bigger motor but hopefully works, , also have from a V6, they looks same 😅
How do you clear the code after...?
I use my scan tool. You can also disconnect the battery for a few minutes and it will reset.
Bank 1 on a 3.5 colorado would be which one cause i have 2 knock sensors
I'm really glad I found this. I watched several videos for replacement of a 5.3 knock sensor which I did not realize were showing replacement of the old style. Pleasantly surprised at how easy this is going to be by comparison. Thanks.
