In the End, sometimes you have to save yourself. You have to make the decision everyday to go through treatment, to talk to your doctor, to take care of your body as best you can, to count your blessings, and to forgive yourself every time you fuck up and aren't perfect. Everyday you have to look up and decide today is worth living and tomorrow will be too. And if it isn't worth living for yourself, maybe it's worth living for the people that love you.
One day Chester made the decision that his suffering was too great and it was no longer worth it. And it broke so many hearts, but we don't suffer for his loss the way he suffered for his life.

@@Ayaforshort yes only you can save yourself. Chester did have his family and friends there to help him. It frustrates me when people say that he had no help. He did, but sometimes it just takes that one moment of pain for it to overwhelm you. He was and will always be love by so many people. He is a bright star that will stay in our minds and hearts

Speaking as a person who has lived over 50 yrs with suicide ideation & many attempts. I have an amazing circle, but once my mind has decided to take my life not one person could have stopped me!!! We’re very good at hiding what we really feel. Linkin Park has saved me so many times, among other bands. It makes me realise I’m not alone in all this self destruction. Please don’t blame Chester’s circle for what he did, they did the best they could do. Even though I am medicated now, those thoughts NEVER go away. It’s hard to reach out for help, so please reach in. You may save a life. ♥️ xx

@Christopher Bingham it's a little odd. But Chester was able to save thousands if not millions of lives with his and LP's music. Something not alot of folks will ever have the ability to do. Everyone is fighting a hidden battle of some sorts within themselves. Chester sadly lost his fight, but he also left a legacy that will echo throughout time. We are part of that legacy. It's up to us now to carry on in his place and pick up and fight. It's up to us to come together and share our energy with each other and prop up each other to continue to carry on.

I think Chester was murdered to protect the child trafficking trade. His family said he was really excited to work on a documentary covering it. Then he died. Avicii and Anthony Bourdain also spoke out against child trafficking at one point and they wound up dead, as well.

This album came out a few weeks before my dad passed away. This song was stuck in my head for months after. My mom had died 2 years before and my dad was all I had left. So losing him had me in pieces. I felt a deep connection to every part of the lyrics. Because I did hold on too tight and lie to myself about a lot of things when he passed. It took a long time but this song helped me pick myself up and move forward. I eventually got "the hardest part of ending is starting again" tattooed on my arm as a reminder to keep going when things get tough or come to an unexpected end.
Thank you for reviewing this song finally. I love seeing you get into their music and break down what you think of it. Watching your reactions always brightens my day, even when it's a song that's kind of heavy and emotional and I appreciate you and your channel so much.

6:13 Fun fact: Brad Delson plays the Whammy DigiTech before the last chorus, You can see him play on live concerts including rock in Rio 2012.
Another fact that I can't relate to the lyrics but the lyrics I relate is "Sitting in the empty room trying to forget the past" is that Chester is trying to forget his past when he was young that happens to him.

Chester was deeply in touch with himself, his pain, his depression, his scars. And he used his music with Mike Shinoda and the band to reach others who were and are in places he was. And he wanted to help, even in his own pain. You can hear it in the lyrics. And each band member had their own “demons” to battle. I love LP. They are cathartic.

I suggest checking out not specifically Linkin Park, but Mike Shinoda's solo work, his album titled Post Traumatic that came out in 2018. It's one hell of a journey, and I think you'd appreciate it from all sides, as a Linkin Park fan, as a (former?) hip-hop head and, most importantly, emotionally.
The music video for 'Over Again' was partially shot the same night LP were holding their latest (to date) show in the Hollywood Bowl, in memory of Chester. That's a different side of Mike compared to anything else he's ever done.
I don't know if it warrants a video from you per se, but I've wanted to see you react to it for the longest time.
And hey. Take care out there. We're here for you.

i'd recommend all of the five albums he hasn't heard yet. they're all amazing and even if he might not like the music (what i think is possible with One More Light), i know he'd pay attention to lyrics which are powerful and meaningful. i think he'd love Minutes to Midnight (he hasn't heard No more sorrow for example!), A Thousand Suns, Living Things and The Hunting Party in their entirety. he's showed not once and not twice that heavy music isn't everything he needs to enjoy songs, i think he'd find Leave out all the rest, Powerless or The messenger good too

The album "A thousand suns" I consider the best in the discography of the group, because it is conceptual and makes you listen to it from beginning to end. This is very strong album with daring experiments that Linkin Park loves so much. "A Thousand Suns" is the quintessence of the band's creative emancipation, this album fully embodies the canonical character of the band's sound, in my opinion.
I advise you to listen to the song "Blackout", the most energetic song on the album :)

Having gone through a breakup and having to be alone afterwards is the hardest thing i have gone through, this song describes everything i have been going through almost like it was written for me. INSANE LYRICS! Even though its hard to listen to it, i like going in and listen to my thoughts in song form.

Please react to "Leave Out The Rest" by Linkin Park. The song hits so differently now, that Chester is no longer with us. The lyrics that hits hard are:
    ----------
    I dreamed I was missing
    You were so scared
    But no one would listen
    Cause no one else cared
    After my dreaming
    I woke with this fear
    What am I leaving
    When I'm done here?
So, if you're asking me, I want you to know
    ---------
I literally think Chester was trying to reach out through his music. It seems as if every song was an attempt to tell someone he was sick and needed help. He wanted someone to grab him, give him a hug, and tell him everything will be alright.

I feel the same way, listening to their songs now hit so hard now. I suffer with depression, PTSD, bipolar, anxiety and ADHD from childhood sexual abuse and I connect to Chester and his music. In his interviews when he says “Being inside my head is not a good thing” and how dark it is there I know exactly what he means. Linkin Parks music saved so many people, it truly breaks my heart that it couldn’t help Chester 💔😢 I hope it are now at peace

Powerless is my favorite Linkin Park song, but this is the song I come back to the most, it always comforts me and helps me feel just the littlest bit better, the 3rd verse "Sitting in an empty room, trying to forget the past, this was never meant to last" always hits me hard I have a really hard time not dwelling on the past and more specifically the bad things that happened in the past that keep me up all night and it's hard to try and forget it and just move on and leave the bad things behind and try to be positive. Linkin Park songs in general are always relatable and comforting but this one is definitely my 2nd favorite song

But the negativity of it all and the bullshit… it’s so hard for me since there are times I cannot run or hide, I can only just accept that this is just how it is supposed to be. But what’s the point of living life if you only feel pain, your own mindset practically against you????

This song is soooooo much deeper. About life and anxiety and death, every friendship, every friend or family member that has died, every lie you ever told even if it was JUST to get by in front of everyone; this is every moment that causes me personally to feel like everything is falling apart, everything is different.
I just lost my good friend, and part of this has pieces of my loss of her, and my own fear of dying, and every relationship that ever ended, AND my toxic af family.
I literally done think I can watch this by myself. I only feel comfortable watching this as a reaction right now. Thank you for making this. It was very important that I get this message.

People really slept on A Thousand Suns as a whole. It sits in my mind, when I asked my band teacher when the album came out, what he thought of it, he said "I don't like it, it's like they said 'let's go techno'" while doing a robot impression.
The album is actually my favorite by them. It has some deep cuts, some hard hitting songs, and it showed that they were still great even if their style was evolving.
As Mike says in When They Come for Me: I am not the fortune and the fame nor the same person telling you to forfeit the game...And it seems ugly, but it can get worse, 'cause even a blueprint is a gift and a curse, 'cause once you got a theory of how the thing works, everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first.
Basically, dude was sick of everyone wanting their music to sound like Hybrid Theory and Meteora. They wanted to evolve, and they did.
