Schools in the UK and Europe almost feel like they are in the future compared to the US. It sounds so nice that a whole nation has a single unified school system and curriculum.

There’s countless things wrong with the education system in the U.K. But importantly the U.K. has different education systems. Education is devolved in the U.K. meaning each country has a different system controlled by their own government. In comparison to the size of USA where some states are bigger than some countries in the U.K., there is definitely not as much as a unified system as it seems.
All countries other than Scotland have a similar high school aged 11+ education. Scotland’s is very different with completely different exams sat at different levels.
