Shelley Prior Fine Art - UA-cam
Shelley, I found you not long ago, but I have to comment and tell you how much you've influenced my watercolor adventures in the last year. Sincerely. I've been following artists for over a decade on UA-cam. Almost 16 years??? The Mind of Watercolor, The Art of Aaron Blaise, James Gurney, Shirley Peters and so on. I've been painting in acrylics and a few other mediums for 30 years. But your approach, your personality and your relaxed teaching is very welcome. Thank you for sharing your techniques and approaches. Thank you for sharing your experience. Watercolor has always been a difficult medium for me. When to control it and when to let it just be watercolor. I know I'm not alone in my thanks. It's been fun trying all these projects and seeing where it goes. Please keep doing what you're doing! God Bless
New subscriber, I really enjoyed this. I know enough about art and watercolor to recognize a talented artist and I stopped everything to watch this. I'll be watching the finish and the horse looks so wonderful. I was planning to tackle a horse painting and was thinking of acrylic but this changed my mind. Thank you for the video.
Aww...I would like to have seen the horse finished... but your teaching style is so wonderful.
Stay tuned … part 2 is coming up this Wednesday 😊
I have to stop scheduling my doctors appointments on Wednesday. I keep missing the live.
Gorgeous so far! Are you painting on a flat or raised angle?
Thank you. I’m worked flat
Will this be UA-cam after you are done?
I’m continuing next week 😊
Which brush is that flat one?
It’s a synthetic flat, Loew-Cornell flat 3/4”
You should put your finished painting in the video thumbnail not your reference photo. I mistook you for a real master. Not a fair way to lure clicks.
I always switch it once the painting is done. This is a 2-part demo. No click bait intended at all.
Ok Karen
Learning so much!!! Love this!!!
Fantastic!! I want to see the finished horse!
It’s incredible the way you paint: watercolor artist usually use this medium in a rebel way, you show us realistic masterpiece. I am speechless you are inspiring. Really amazing 😮
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for choosing this subject. I’m impatient so this one is really going to test me but I’m excited to learn how to paint horses. Thank you!
Thank you very much...I have been painting oil portraits and drawings mostly, but now want to try watercolor! I love painting horses...❤
Hi Shelly ,
Really loved the horse .. I received some great photos on the rodeo in my home state . And the horses with the cowboys are just amazing. I think I’m going to give it a go . Your a wonderful inspiration to me. I love the realism style too!
I don’t use animal hair brushes but since watching your demos, I’ve managed to find some really good synthetic mop brushes and I’m loving them ❤ I haven’t really used mop brushes before. They’ve been a game changer for me!
I actually think this is a beautiful painting right you can see how pale I did that
Loved the video! Can’t wait to see the next one! 🤩
Beautiful Shelley! ❤
Beautiful subject! I love your work Shelly and you're a great teacher. I cant find part 2??
Thank you. You’ll need to tune I. Wednesday morning at 10am ET to see part 2
