I think Peter half jokingly played into his Freudian slip. But yeah even with the argument of having a dragons expertise and connection he certainly undervalued his own company.
Straight up equity investment "silent partner" "Angel investor" putting up money with no input would be appropriate to go on actual market value on a company. However when you are investing and also providing resources time and effort, a dragon actually provides a lot of worth and value so that naturally gets priced in to the deal. You could own 100% of a small pond worth £2000 current value, but own 80% of an ocean valued at £1,000,000 what would you rather have? This is what a lot of entrepreneurs forget when they walk away from a deal. Sometimes they are right to, but sometimes I think some may think in hindsight wish they took the deal.

Amazed he didn't take the offer to have Peter on board too. For the sake of 5% extra I feel Peter could have added a huge amount of value. But good luck to the guy!
The offer he pitched was fair. He stated the business had £500k in the bank, with a revenue of £1m and a profit of £400k. I believe Peter was just being greedy, the business is worth more than £350k.
I think Peter thought he slipped up on the maximum he can give, because people do come on dragons den with a limit they are willing to give away, so Peter was like heck let's go for the maximum he can go to and see what happens 🤣
It was a trick. He did that because he knew some dragons would automatically go for that “maximum” and his business was very investable. Then the other dragons would have to go lower ultimately to what he wanted, negotiation is a game of chess, he let them think they had the upper hand…
Jenny: You have a business with proven profitability that every other dragon in this den is willing to invest in at or close to the terms you have offered. Because of how valuable and rare an opportunity this is for any investor to stumble across ....I’m out.
He knew what he was doing when he "mistakenly" said 25% at the beginning. It was a test of the dragons to see which one was more interested in the money Vs the ethics. The 15% he offered is clearly a good deal anyway so for a dragon to take more means they 're motivated by greed. I think Debra saw this and showed her ethics by respecting his offer
Deborah offered 15% cause she can't match what the other dragons have to offer 🤣 other dragons have all the expertise hence them asking for more peter would of had this business booming and is worth the extra 10% you pay for what he brings to the table
@@notxirc8359 tbh Peter offered way more than what he could hope for. Free warehousing and distribution in a new country? Promise of brand advertising in another dragon's businesses? Those were definitely worth the 5% extra.
I think he could've absolutely negotiated with Peter + Deborah for a lower percentage, like 17% and they still would've agreed to it. I've never seen a dragon be SO happy when their offer gets accepted.
I would have taken the Peter/Deborah combo. Actualy, Tukah/Deborah would have been the best. If he could bring the manufacturing cost down, they'd be even better off.
The manufacturing costs being brought down would be easy: get the plastics from Indonesia or Brazil (both of which have massive issues with waste and pollution) The thing is, places like The Netherlands, Germany and some other European countries have massssivse pushes on this. He would benefit more from selling his products to corporate industries in the UK if the customers could say that they were helping to clean up the country of origin, with the country of origin being the one their business was from. The problem is, recycling actually takes alot of energy, its expansive to remould plastic, it also not good for the environment like people make out.... You need to melt the plastic.
His original offer was already a steal with his numbers, but it makes sense as it’s clear he’s doing this more for the environmental part than for the money.
I cant see why he didnt go for the Deborah/Peter split? That would have been a massive tour de force. Guy had a great product tho, I dont think the man himself expected it to go that well!
It is because Peter is the wrong partner. He really only sees the recyclable as branding play but its actually a recycling play that happens to make money. There will be times when Robert will compromise profit for sustainability and Deborah who is already deep in that space would be easier to communicate that with.
@@redeye789852 What about the other split, that sounded good right? Go international and have manufacturing, but i don't know anything about those 2 guys, first time i see them i think
I agree. He made a big mistake. Peter would have got him far greater distribution and market presence than Deborah could as she freely admitted. Peter is by far the richest and most successful dragon Deborah is very pragmatic and down to earth. so why not partener with then both? He skimped on just 5 % more. That could be in the millions lost.

I love it when Jenny makes an offer and Tej begins smirking because he knows what's she's going to do
I like how shocked they all was when he accepted Debra's offer and then Peter trying to laugh it off then realised he lost sulking haha
He was joking, duhhh. It's obvious to a blind speelsnape.
His response “a lot of testing and a lot of money I believe” was the best response I’ve heard
Peter's ears went up what Robert said 25% in his intro. He knows that was the real ceiling, despite the 15% offer.
He was taken hook, line and sinker
I expected him to pitch for 33 or even 40%. Peter or Touker would be much better partners than Debrah.
The only portfolio Jenny builds is coming into the den for a free drink and only being able to say 2 words
Yes, her eyes sparkled with the gin pitch....what I hate about this is the guy at the start, a voice over is enough
Let’s not forget being the massage lady when the need arise.
@@shawnvalerio6836 she cracked me up when she did that 😂

Jenny Campbell: “It doesn’t fit with the portfolio that I don’t have.”
Exactly! LOL.
Even other dragons were shocked when Jenny said I'm out after praising the product as she did 😂
Reminds me a bit of Gordon Ramsey
Deb was straight forward and transparent with what she could provide, that's probably why this smart lad choose her.
I loved deborah’s reaction so cute haha
You’re beautiful
Jenny: "I am not going to make you an offer today." She means including tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, lifetime.
Deborah being "eco-conscious" sounds like she's on power-saving mode
Well being close to Jenny will do that with her draining personality.
@@StallionStudios1234 massive knockers tho
Yayyy, I'm so delighted when Deborah is happy to have gotten an offer. This is the happiest I've seen her.
"This is a great product, you are great, everything is perfect, but I'm Jenny..."
Jenny: You have a business with proven profitability that every other dragon in this den is willing to invest in at or close to the terms you have offered. Because of how valuable and rare an opportunity this is for any investor to stumble across ....I’m out.
„Don’t fight guys“ just made my day 😂😂😂
He knew what he was doing when he "mistakenly" said 25% at the beginning. It was a test of the dragons to see which one was more interested in the money Vs the ethics. The 15% he offered is clearly a good deal anyway so for a dragon to take more means they 're motivated by greed. I think Debra saw this and showed her ethics by respecting his offer
Or he picked deborah because deborah offered exactly what he wanted?🤷
or maybe it was a play on his subconscious, he was prepared to accept 25% if offered but let it slip at the start and peter capitalized.
People dont become as rich as the dragons if their prime motivator isnt greed.
I just love the presenter "even this ultra laidback Dutch man is feeling the pressure "🤣😅😂
I would have taken the Peter/Deborah combo.
Actualy, Tukah/Deborah would have been the best. If he could bring the manufacturing cost down, they'd be even better off.
The manufacturing costs being brought down would be easy: get the plastics from Indonesia or Brazil (both of which have massive issues with waste and pollution)
The thing is, places like The Netherlands, Germany and some other European countries have massssivse pushes on this.
No way would Deborah ever share with Touker. She seems to despise him for some reason
Yup, they could have filled up Touker's office space with all the furniture
The looks that Jenny got after announcing her being out. And what portfolio is she referring to? “Look after my bills”? That’s the only one isn’t it?
Dont forget her 2 big strapping lads at'oooome 🤣
She's the northern girl!
She takes care of all Crown possessions up int' North on behalf of E2R.
His original offer was already a steal with his numbers, but it makes sense as it’s clear he’s doing this more for the environmental part than for the money.
That dude is just the coolest guy I’ve ever seen.
He’s Dutch they normally are 😂
I cant see why he didnt go for the Deborah/Peter split? That would have been a massive tour de force. Guy had a great product tho, I dont think the man himself expected it to go that well!
It is because Peter is the wrong partner. He really only sees the recyclable as branding play but its actually a recycling play that happens to make money. There will be times when Robert will compromise profit for sustainability and Deborah who is already deep in that space would be easier to communicate that with.
@@redeye789852 fair point I hadn't considered actually
@@redeye789852 What about the other split, that sounded good right? Go international and have manufacturing, but i don't know anything about those 2 guys, first time i see them i think
I agree. He made a big mistake. Peter would have got him far greater distribution and market presence than Deborah could as she freely admitted. Peter is by far the richest and most successful dragon Deborah is very pragmatic and down to earth. so why not partener with then both? He skimped on just 5 % more. That could be in the millions lost.
Sometimes 3 is a crowd.
Jenny knows she is being trolled by us. For sure.
WTFC?
Cringe!!!!
And that’s why she’s out
And that’s why she’s out
And that's why shes out
Deborah not only matched his offer but also share the same ideals of recycling. He's a good guy for not being too greedy, Peter's offer was fire.
Jenny’s having a laugh, don’t think I’ve ever seen here invest. “ I like your product, but I’m out” 🤣🤣
I seen her invest once I swear💯😆
The last analysis I saw, she was investing at a similar level to the others. It would be interesting if anyone has a more up to date one.
The incessant comments about it are just people being sheep, but it's harmless so if it makes you happy why not!
Yes, on five occasions.
Jenny Campbell's personal website lists the following five investments: drinks brand Didsbury Gin, loyalty scheme ParkingPerx, truck advertising firm DrivenMedia, energy switching service Look After My Bills, and hemp skincare producer Carun UK.
Here in Brazil we have our own Jenny. She is called Cris. Regardless of the pitch, valuation, offer, or whatever anyone throws at them, she'll be out. Always. I've never seen her making an offer. 😂
10:52 That moment of genuine glee immediately followed by trying to keep his cool LOL
It's nice that they've gotten Hans Zimmer to score Dragon's Den...
best comment I've seen on yt for years
It is Hans Zimmer .... not Zimmerman
It's Hans Zimmer and it''s not even close to him.
@@TheSAINTWARRIOR I've corrected the spelling mistake ... the rest was just a joke to highlight how dramatic the music was. I am, of course, not suggesting that this compares to the work of Hans Zimmer. It was a joke.
@@Voicist Listen, I don't come to UA-cam comment sections for jokes, I come here to correct people's spelling. Your comment checks out. 🔠✅💯
This guy comes across genuine and truthful,i think that adds to the charm of his sale.
“It doesn’t quite fit with the portfolio I’m building” - her portfolio of “outs” lol
Edit: damn nearly 500 likes in a week, thanks guys!
It fits with her portfolio of outs hahaha
😂
I laughed way harder than I should have at this
And in another clip she said she was “building up a diverse portfolio of businesses” 😂 like wut?
In the woke world (probably in the US), she’d be thrashed immediately on Twitter and would be receiving a lot of heat. Who would say eco-friendly products isn’t on their portfolio? 😄
I’m glad he went with just her. And peters reaction saying he wouldn’t buy any after getting rejected shows that he was only passionate about the profits rather than what it’s doing to the world, so he made the right choice. If the other dragons were passionate about the reason behind the product like she did, they would have had a better shot.
None of them are passionate about saving the planet. It's all about the bottom line which is profit.
He clearly said that in jest.
Peter was clearly joking.
@@Schultz3 I’m sorry but watching the show for years and seeing him be petty like this all the time because he isn’t treated like the only dragon that matters, it isn’t clear.
@@dramadude9266 I've also watched this show for years, and he seems like the nicest dragon (although that's not saying much, but still...)
Peter Jones face whenever he loses a deal is hilarious, its like the demeanor of a pouting child...
Priceless too see Peter getting taken out of the deal , him and Debra scam that partnership deal all the time
Poor Tuka, no one ever wants to share with him, lol.
I adore Deborah. When she moves those beautifully manicured fingers the wheels are turning. Clever, articulate, the whole package!!!He made the right decision.
She's....quality
She is fit, mate..
Deborah is awesome
He imagined them clawing at his back.
Ey ey what is all this lads
I feel for Tej man he’s like the ghost in a group chat that never says anything and when he does it’s a shock. 😂
He just peddles quack remedies. Worthless in my book.
Probably the GOAT den performance we've just seen there guys. Came in shot straight and secured the bag on his terms.
Absolute masterclass from start to finish 💸
Shame the company has dissolved. I thought with plastic waste etc they'd be onto a winner.
6:39 this is one of Jenny's best ever "I'm out" moments. Bravo!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you all agree that this is yet the most intense episode of dragon's den?
No
Nope, one of the best product and pitch but not the most intense one.
What’s with the dramatic music guys calm down
😂😂😂😂😂
Deborah is a very smart woman... just love how she is there to invest on ideas and potential... Very good 👍 👏
Entrepreneur undervalued his business. He should have asked for 2 dragons with 5% each
“It doesn’t quite fit in with my portfolio I’m building at the moment”
Dragons: You’re working on a portfolio?!
I actually stopped cutting my nails when Jenny said she liked it. I thought she was going to invest but NO lol
LMAO
Lol
This guy is so humble (at least in this video).
Very few people left like this sadly.
nah hes just dutch
This man's choice of 🐲 ultimately came from his passion for a better world rather than to fill his pockets. Wise decision all the best...
love this guy...so confident of himself and not feeling impressed or intimidated by the Dragons...curious to know how his business is doing now?
Jenny: "You actually have something really good here....."
All of us: "Wait, it can't be!"
Jenny: "...... but I have to say I'm out."
All of us: "Haaaa, the universe remains in equilibrium."
I had an accident and broke my leg, I have spent all my money on hospital bills and I can't walk for now.. so I really want to make money for myself why I'm at home resting my legs
Hi, I have a question. I've been trading for a while now only on a demo account until I feel like I can progress to an actual account, at what time of my trading career can I safely say that my positive trades aren't just luck, but I actually know what I am doing?
Bitcoin is the future, investing in it now will be the wisest thing to do, especially with the current rise
Can i start with $3,500
@@davidaiden9637 Mr Dylan J Mason can be of help
A friend that I erred to Mr Dylan J Mason just received $7,050 profit after 15 days of investing....I became jealous.. lol
That actually gave me goosebumps. I love Dutch people.
Jenny: I absolutely love it. Great product. Sensible. Everybody wants to go this way. I can see all sorts of companies and offices wanting to use this product...
... and for those reasons, im out.
Is nobody gonna talk about Touker's not so passive aggression at 12:32 ?
As soon as Jenny started talking up the guy and his business I was waiting for that "..but I won't be investing ". She didn't disappoint. At a girl Jenny 😉👍
Jenny:”I know diddly squat about anything, so I’m out.”
The look toucer gives jenny when she says it doesnt fit with the portfolio she's building 😂😂
Peter and Deborah Always Share and they often get the deals.
If the numbers are spot on in terms of $, that's obviously the first hurdle to scale, but with Peter Jones, craves cohesion with a person, and a damn good character. This guy is a 10/10 dreamboat for any entrepreneur. Robert is fantastic, as his product is so good and stylish. Listen to them all fighting for him. Good on ya Robert 🙏. What a lovely fist fight to watch 👊👊. Congrats Robert 🥳 He can't loose with any of the great dragons.
Jenny: “it doesn’t quite fit with the portfolio I’m building at the moment”
Portfolio: “I’m out”
Jenny Campbell should never have been on the show. She talks about her portfolio. She is not a good fit for the show, as she is just so negative. Rob
LMAO
I remembered they kicked Khan out because he can’t invest in an alcohol related business. But Jenny stayed for the memes I guess
Jenny: Your business is great, successful and making money, and I really like it. Therefore I'm not going to make you an offer and I'm going to declare myself out.
so beeing a green product doesnt fit her portfolio! Ehhh ok. She needs to be replaced
She's a joke.
Deborah mocking Touker by saying he has "offices all over the world"🤣🤣🤣
Deborah devouring the rest of them. Anyway good investment for long term optics.
Glad they didn't get away with being downright greedy. Deborah is a lady of principle.
As an American, this is my first Dragon's Den viewing. It is so different than our similar show, Shark Tank.
In Dragon's Den:
1. No one interrupts anyone
2. The dragons are able to take a turn to get their offer out
3. No one rushes the guy to make a decision on which offer to choose
4. No one makes any jokes :(
5. The dragons don't ask very many questions
I cant watch Shark tank because of the arguing amongst investors.
I absolutely hate that about Shark Tank. They're always always ALWAYS rushing them to accept the offer or not. It's so frustrating. Especially freaking Kevin.
I can't watch shark tank because of the ridiculously pantomime pitches .... they're more at home in a pre school play !
