    Thanks for the video. But the label with safety instructions doesn't need to be removed to take out the motor. The screws are under the white rubber support.

    Good stuff. Enjoyed your explanation. Love to fix stuff that's deemed throwaway myself.

    When I was trying to figure out what these motors were called it drove me nuts it's actually a DC that can run on AC

    When the only tool you've got is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, every problem looks like a portable power tool.

      Necessity is the mother of all inventions. :)

    It will because it is a universal motor and is so named because it is a type of electric motor that can operate on AC or DC power. It is a commutated series-wound motor where the stator's field coils are connected in series with the rotor windings through a commutator. It is often referred to as an AC series motor. got that from Jeremy on you tube he shows people what can be made from all types of motors, just saying Old One Legged Joseph T.

      Joseph do you know if this motor is in other blenders as I would like to try this hack for my off-grid cabin at the opal fields of Lightning Ridge.

    Dude you have a tachometer? That's sick.

      I mess around with a lot of motors so a tachometer is a very useful tool. It's quite cheap, however.

    Have you tried to blend anything on the 24v mate.

    Do you know if it is possible to charge a cordless vacuum cleaner (14.4v)via the 12v solar battery bank?

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  7 років тому

      14.4V seems to be Ni-Cad battery, isn't it? A 14.4V battery pack is not usually 14.4V but a bit higher than that. So you'll need a much higher voltage than 14.4V to charge it. A 12V battery bank is at 12.7V at rest fully charged so no, it will not charge a 14.4V battery pack. You can use your 12V solar panel to charge a 14.4V battery, however. But there's no charge controller for a 14.4V so you'll need to monitor it carefully to make sure it's not overcharged.

    G'dat Vuaeco. how long do you think it will last on DC and I'm always keen to know how many amps a thing consumes (being off grid)

      It depends on how much juice you're making and how thick your juice is. :). It can run on DC so you can just use your off grid battery to run it. With this, you usually only run for a brief moment enough to make your juice so it won't consume much power.
