"Hurler, a terrible wooden coaster" "Judge Roy Scream, a janky wooden coaster" "Grizzly, an old sad wooden coaster" What a way to describe these wooden coasters in prime ride time XD
I hope that Prologis turns into a multipurpose company that also manages theme parks, the them park should stay and there are too many warehouses! Prologis's original plan was to build warehouses, so the land once favored by many will hurt Prologis's reputation!
It blows my mind that Marriott tried to run theme parks at one point. I’m still holding out hope that someone will save this park. Also, kudos for being willing to do math for these videos.
I find it funny how California’s Great America advertises Gold Striker as “the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Northern California” at 53.7 mph, when the only other two, Grizzly and Giant Dipper at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, hit 55 mph.
This is the most underrated I've been to. It has a good, but not marvelous coaster lineup, but the park overall, including the flats, waterpark, and overall ambience surprised me a lot back in 2017 - better than SFDK imo - it's sad that they'll be closing in the next years...
Thanks for finally doing one of the bay area parks!! Feels so lonely up here when all the theme park youtuber focus is on disney, universal, and magic mountain!
I knew Gold Striker would be top 3 for pacing. That thing rips through its course like almost nothing else. Still my favorite woodie, even above Mystic and Voyage. I'll cry the day it gets torn down...
Technically my home park is SFDK, but I ignore that 45 mins extra and claim CGA. Its such a lovely little park. I'm really hoping that San Jose holds out like they have been with the zoning and manages to keep it open somehow, even if another company comes in to manage it. They've been adding rides and making improvements and my trips this last summer were amazing.
Me but with Kings Island instead of Kentucky Kingdom even though KI is an hour and a half farther than KK. Don’t get me wrong KK is great, but is nothing compared to Kings Island
To answer your question: this confirmed everything about this park I though I already knew: #3: nothing big in drop; 2: nothing big in length and 3: nothing good with duration (long prime ride time) but I oughta go at least once before it closes I guess, considering I live in a suburb of Vancouver and its the closest Cedar Fair park to where I live. Thanks for posting!
I felt like Grizzly was the little coaster car that could trying to make it around its turn around. It was definitely a sad wooden coaster. I did feel like it would be rough if it ran with any speed through the layout.
This is by all accounts a great, fun park, and I think if my family ever got to visit it, we'd have a blast. But videos like this remind me how incredibly spoiled we are living in the shadow of Cedar Point. Thinking of how CP built Maverick and everyone was amazed they would build something so small, yet here it would be the longest and fastest ever by a good margin, and it's only 3' shorter than the current tallest. It's just a crazy perspective. You don't need to be full of monstrous behemoths to be a great park, but I'm sure not going to complain.
Just watched this again because I'm taking my 1st trip to California's Great America; leaving in 36 hours spending two nights and one 10 hour Saturday; the culmination of Fright nights. Great video.
What are the odds you upload this just after I’ve visited cga twice in the last two weeks for the first time in 4 years!! I hope cedar fair will do something with discovery kingdom after this park closes. I hope this series, and your channel, never ends. Also, when I rode grizzly last week, it surprisingly was rough compared to how it normally runs, it’s definitely usually much smoother so maybe it’s starting to show its age
Great video as always! I am really shocked that none of the coaster enthusiast UA-cam channels are covering the new “Good Gravy” coaster announcement at Holiday World!
Alright, if they move coasters, what would go where?? Maybe give the lower tier parks something?? Michigan’s adventure gets flight deck, patriot to valley fair, rail blazer to worlds of fun.
@@AirtimeThrills At CGA. They got new trains like 10 years ago, and they got a big for CGA retrack on it with about a third of the track changed out and some really bad re-profiling at the end.
Chris, video ideas: favourite Wham! songs and buy or sell: since cedar point is gonna build top thrill 2 in 2024, in the later years, KI is going to remove Orion, and build a 500+ tall version on Orions plot of land

This is such an underrated park and I'm really sad to know that it's going to be closing by the end of the decade.
Not a guarantee. They've been adding rides and the city council wont change the land from a amusement park area.
@@seancurrier6711That tells you that the Santa Clara City Council wants the park to stick around in the future as well.

Who knows, maybe Prologis will build the Megabyte (the 233 foot Hyper to wrap around drop tower) and keep the park
