I think you have some great points about what are some flaws about these very similar products. I totally agree, if I am using an eye liner I hope I can have more control in drawing but that can be really hard if the tip of the pen cannot hold up.

I don't agree, I tried both and the rem beauty eyeliner lasts longer, it's waterproof and doesn't stain... and it's also cheaper.

Fair enough, they're both waterproof and worked for me equally but as I mentioned in the video, r.e.m applicator is not the best.
