- Today, the congregation gathers together to partake in a sacred time of worship and prayer, humbly offering their gratitude to the Almighty. As they lift their voices in reverent praise, they are guided by the esteemed leadership of Rev. David Brown, who will share an impactful message centered on the theme of Calling Jesus.
Mark 10:46-52
46 They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.”
The service will be accentuated by the beautiful, uplifting sounds of music, as the congregation is led in song by the talented Stacy Haney on the organ and piano. Adding to the musical celebration, Armstrong Bell Choir directed by Chester Imhausen, who will grace the sanctuary with their beautiful melodies. Together, we will lift our hearts in timeless hymns of worship, including the beloved United Methodist hymns Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee, My Hope Is Built, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God. Amidst this sacred symphony, the children of the congregation will also have their moment to shine, as the Children's Sunday School Program presents a special Children's Moment exploring the depths of faith. Undergirding the service is the steadfast devotion of liturgist, Rev. Steve Hoard, who will lead the congregation in the Call to Worship and guide them through the appointed scripture passages. This multi-faceted celebration of praise and reverence will undoubtedly fill the hearts of all in attendance with a profound sense of gratitude and connection to the divine.
The dedicated production team of Shanon Rice, Kashena Rhoill, and volunteer Armstrong Youth member Alex K. played a vital role in ensuring today's worship service was a seamless, engaging experience for all in attendance. Elevating the worship experience and ensuring the pastor's words, the choir's harmonies, and the community's prayers are shared far beyond the walls of the sanctuary.
