Absolutely brilliant!! How to work an audience, never a better lesson. One of the great Scottish entertainers.( I think he found it as funny as the audience)! I doubt if those of the "Chewin' The Fat" ilk could stand up to this, and over such a long period of time.
Hilarious timing and he's got the crowd in the palm of his hand. He was at a do at the Glasgow City Council, they're having Beef Wellington. Jack pipes up this is the best buckin bridie I've ever had.
Awwe man, this is just a good laugh. Old fashioned humour and a masterclass in comic timing 🙂 I’ve no doubt that some young’uns would watch this nowadays and be mortally offended but who cares, I hope they are actually !
Two young performers wanted to do their act on stage. They wrote to Rikki Fulton for permission. Mr Fulton gave his permission. But said you just cant stand there doing the words. Youve got to work the audience. So true. They were pros at it. Not easy i am sure
I stumbled on this and think it is hilarious. It's the same tune and idea as "Found a Peanut", but much funnier. ( I hope y'all don't mind an American- even worse an Ozark hillbilly-commenting here. I've been told to get off one comment board because I'm not British and don't have a valid opinion.)
Have to wonder if those were the best wigs the two of them could find. They look like they should be propped up in coffins or something. Particularly the massive one in his tight suit, if I'd seen them as a kid I'd have been terrified. I know the 70s were a wasteland for fashion, but even so. Like prop corpses from an old Hammer film.
Should be a statue to these two in Glasgow pure brilliant
Will never be replaced ,marvellous.
Pure greatness, my youth all over again. God love them both in heaven
Loved wee Jack was a honour to work with him a true gentleman

Why do you people have to obsess about whether things are offensive or not? It's very boring.
What a performance, X factor hopefuls could learn so much from Jack, all we get is karaoke wannabees...can we have some talent next year???

I think it’s deliberate; they’re meant to be aging teddy boys so it suits their characters’ refusal to accept their age 😂
Glad audience got a good laugh but I never cracked a smile, me ..
Comedy legend. Yes in today's reckoning it is racist. Humour is relevant to audience at that time.
This kind or racist act wouldn't last 2 minutes these days. Still, interesting to see where the River City style of acting came from.
Whats racist about it?
About as funny as chewing a wasp..
And you’re a total nobody.
Embarrassing.
