I don't expect much from content creators. I view it akin to a service: We're the customers, and creators are the service providers who offer compelling incentives/talents to their consumer base. It's inevitable that, after several years, a tragedy or life event occurs that shifts attention away from the daily grind.
Honestly, we should be more comfortable accepting that people aren't machines; maximizing output to the detriment of personal development is unsustainable long-term. And above all: Just take it easy once in a while and take a break if you can.
I don't really expect anything from any of them as I don't pay anything. Just release vids when you/they have an idea for something. Shouldn't rush anything or feel like they should release anything (accept of course for the people that do pay)
Yeah it seems most creator's fans are pretty patient with stuff like this, and realise they are... people. They are not a huge broadcaster that you can be pissed at for cancelling an episode of your show because football is happening now or something.

Absolutely. I prefer longer production for higher quality. I subscribe to dozens of channels like this for a reason. Once the video comes out, it will go into my feed and I have no expectation for any of them of when that will be (but I know it will be worth it when it does).

From a long time pub landlord: just be careful what you're drinking now you're running a bar! It can be far too easy when you're around people drinking all day to join in and/or stay late every night drinking with staff/friends/regulars. It's definitely not good for your mental health, nor for motivation to get work done!

No need to apologize, I understand - watching the video wasn't necessary to know what you meant, it was clear from the title and the thumbnail. I'll leave, by which I mean unsubscribe, and give you the time and space you need.
Definitely understand the situation and taking time to get things in order for yourself is totally understandable. I've been dealing with massive anxiety for a lot of this year too and it sucks. I do just have to say though, putting a sponsored segment in an apology/life update video is...not what I would have done. But that's just me.
This observation isn’t out of malice but you definitely got that tired youtuber look going on. Quite common place I’ve noticed for longer running quality channels like yours, especially when tubers take on large projects outside of UA-cam with no real prior experience with the included bonus of life getting in the way.
Always make sure to look after yourself first, you owe us nothing. If you were to fall into an unreturnable hole we’d *never* get videos anymore so people appreciate when tubers like yourself take time away to get either themselves or their priorities right to allow videos to continue long into the future.

Just here to throw my support and empathy at you, and to tell you that you talk about Xybots too much. It’s getting weird.
People saying take your time, take care of yourself and so on. Every creator does this because they know if you don't upload regularly and especially take a long break you are going to be missing out on making a living and may never recover your viewership ever again. It's the risk for everyone in the business. So saying these things while in good faith and the ones saying it means what they say, it's not realistic.
@Nostalgianerd Bro don't ignore my comment, I know What you are going through. I just finish 12 month of cleaning mould of my stuff (electronics and CDs), its crap. Don't just clean on the surface. you have to go super thoroughly with that. like open the electronics and clean them inside with iso alcohol. the plastics bazels and covers you must also clean with dettol (yes dettol) or any other antiseptic material. Its literary the only thing that kills the spores. all the CD's just wash with soap and water and dry clean on soft towel or paper towel (yes you can wash Disks with water and it will not ruin them). Expose everything you can to the sun for some good old sunshine mould killing activities. The dehumidifier is rubbish, it helps your situation only in your dreams. Professional investigation and remediation for the dampness is the way to go. And if you have any health issues you happen to be tackling in the past year, don't be surprised, it's from this. I wish you all the best in geeting on top of that situation.

I'm glad to see you getting back into the swing of things. I'm always interested in seeing the fixtures and trinkets that people have in their offices, even though I'm a complete minimalist and won't install so much as a picture on my wall. If you want a name for the place, I suggest keeping it simple, like 'Nostalgia Hut' or - with reference to a component of old CRT TVs - 'The Electron Dream'.
Speaking of the CRT era, I've yet to beat level 2 of the featured Sega Rally Championship, having tried intermittently over the course of 28 years. I still have the original Sega Saturn, which needs a lot of cabling to make it compatible with a modern screen.

PS5 is not "wasted" on a non 4k display. For one, u get the PS5 games and PS4 games to play. Big win there. In adition, alot of th egame have a 60 fps performance mode, which wil actually be 1080p anyway and is the beter way to play. So only missing a litle bit by not having 4k. But I gotta say too, 1080p loks fantastic still as it is. 4k just a bit more crispy.

What a great space that is! It's going to look amazing. I only found you recently (not sure how that happened so late) but have been going back through your content and it's honestly amazing stuff - right up my street. Sorry to hear about hard times and I know exactly what it's like to have to creatively keep producing even when it's facing a looming storm, be it burn out or something else.
Like you mentioned, it's all very tied together so if one thing changes, it can have all sorts of ramifications (mentally, financially) and knock on effects. So without wanting to put any pressure on, I can't wait to see more content but even if you never released anything again, you can more than proud of an awesome body of work. I know these videos are monsters to put together and no quick job in any sense so it doesn't matter about upload frequency....anyways, best of luck sorting the space ☺️👍

Wow. This is something rare...a genuinely decent person on the internet. You are a good bloke. You are a very wonderful creative person who gives so much to entertain people, pretty much for free. I’ve been in the depths mate, suicide attempts, heroin addiction, the lot. I know how dark and bleak it can get. But I want you to listen to these comments...people care. Strangers care. And I guarantee your friends and family care. You hated your soul here and that takes serious balls. Good for you.
You don’t need to be held to account mate...you have a life. And life gets hard and harder and there’s big patches of valleys and few peaks and it can get on top of you. Doesn’t matter who you are...anxiety and worry and pressure and depression will bring us all down.
Just look after yourself pal. Take time off. Go for a nice holiday. Come to Dublin and I’ll buy you a pint! Just spend a week or two eating takeaway and playing games...but talk to someone. Cry if you need to. Shout it all out and never be ashamed.

In an old house we have had rotten boards and joists, luckly we caught it in time. 😌
We needed to replace some of the floor boards and but luckly we SAVED the joists with anti-mould treatment paint and reinforce the joists with some brazing wood.

Yup don't apologies. its life circumstances. I often take a break from doing videos. You are under no obligation to create content on a regular basis. Just look at the Linus Tech Tips fallout. Their content quality dropped due to quantity over quality. We build content for the love of it first and then our subscribers join us for the journey.... not the other way round.

OK now I have to say I'm sorry. I know exactly what you mean about not getting stuff done causing a spiral of more not getting stuff done. But you have done a lot of stuff! Perhaps it's not what you originally planned to do, but sometimes stuff just happens and you need to do that stuff first. Now you've got your space mostly sorted, I think it's awesome!
As for what you should call it, I only have bad suggestions. Like _Nostalgia Nerd's Tech Timewarp Tabernacle,_ or _The Endless Pit of Despair and Self-loathing and also Mould._ But I'm sure someone else could come up with something more pithy.
