    Do you have to use a planer like that or can a hand held electric one work?

    Can you use the ease release in the mixing cup as well to get all the epoxy out?

  • @SaberCove
    @SaberCove Рік тому

    After you apply the honey stain, do you set it on a cup? To allow the stain to breath or does that not leave a weird mark on what its placed on? Dumb question just never stained before 😅 i also will assume that its food safe

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому +1

      It's not really a stain, its an oil, so you just rub it all in by hand all over. No need to set it on a cup. Set it somewhere to absorb for 20 minutes or so, then hand wipe and buff it all off.

      Yes @TotalBoat woodhoney is food safe.

    This was the first video that I have watched. May I ask what brand and size of drum sander you use/recommend and why?

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому

      It is just a basic ridgid sander -> RIDGID Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander

    • @garynicoletti7182
      @garynicoletti7182 Рік тому

      Hello Sean! What I meant by drum sander is that it appears that you have a Laguna SuperMax drum sander next to your bandsaw in this video. do you use it to flatten material of cutting boards, etc? Are you happy with the unit?

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому

      It is a supermax 19-38, its brand spankin' new, never been used!

    Sorry to ask a dumb question, but which link is to the flush trim bit with the 1/2 trim, and 3/8 bearing? TIA

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому

      Matt, not a dumb question. The item as it is does not exist. You have to buy the 1/2" bit which comes with the 1/2" bearing. Then also buy a 3/8" bit from the same manufacturer. Ideally the bearing threads are the same (especially if you buy them from Amazon in a kit of 3 or 4 bits) and then you just use an allen key to swap them out.

    Where can i get that special offset trim router bit?

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому

      You make it. Buy a 3/8" diameter flush trim bit, and a 1/4" and put the 1/4" bearing on it. Or buy a 1/2" and 3/8" flush trim bit, put the 3/8" bearing on the 1/2" cutter.

    Can you please tell me about your planer?

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому +1

      It is a DEWALT DW735 15 Amp Aluminum 13-in Three Knife, Two Speed Thickness Planer. Its decent, not amazing, but does the job for a decent price!

    What if don't have a table router?

    • @CraftedElements

      You can still use a handheld router! It just takes more time.

    1st mold should be Wiskey Barrel Board

  • @waterlilly62lori
    @waterlilly62lori 11 місяців тому

    The fact that you don't want to try to cut the handles of the wood out to fit in the mold, tells me maybe the template needs to be a bit larger where the handles are.

  • @alanhenderson7006
    @alanhenderson7006 Рік тому

    How about calling them "Barrel" template/Molds?

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  Рік тому +1

      Hmmm... Possibly a decent name? I am concerned that people might assume its a cylindrical mold (for casting something that looks like a barrel) instead of a silhouette of a barrel. Good call though!

    You have made a mistake on how you explained and showed the math for epoxy quantity. Length x width does NOT equal cubic inches. You are right because the depth is one inch. But you posted it as LxW = cubic inches . It’s LxW x thickness or depth = cubic inches. You failed to explain the depth in the equation . Yes you mentioned it when you started but you cannot leave it out in the equation when explaining to people how to figure /estimate quanities. .

    • @CraftedElements
      @CraftedElements  2 місяці тому

      Clearly an oversight here. You are correct, LxWxD is cubic, LxW would be area. Since we had 1" of depth, the "D" part of the equation is irrelevant.
