20 thousand dollars for demolition cost? Just spread the word that there's copper pipes in that shed. Trust me. That shed would be demolished in a matter of a few seconds for free.
Just like our old garbage cans, which the mayor made us get rid of. The material for all of dining sheds will just go to the landfill, instead of having a plan in place to recycle them.
I was born and raised in Manhattan. And people are so dam miserable now. I understand taking some of them down. But some did look nice. It also brought businesses to store owners that were struggling. Now they will probably put it on the sidewalk. Why is it that all these ugly eye sore Scaffoldings don't come down like this? They are in every corner of every block. You can't barely walk straight. Nobody complains about those Gigantic eye sores. Being up for 5-25 years. How come the city doesnt do anything about that?
Why did they wait until the last minute?? because these irreverent owners don't appreciate the helping hand that was extended during Covid and is now wasting more of the public space!!!!! Do what has to be done and on time.
The city is gonna have a field day with these fines before the holidays. Take down those horrendous sheds pls business owners literally have the entire indoor space for customer seating, now they want to hog up the sidewalk and the street with more chairs. Nah enough is enough..
the cafes waited until the last minute because some of them might be thinking a $500 fine everyday might be small compared to the money they make with the extra seating.
Why did the owner think spending 25K on an outdoor shed that was supposed to always be temporary was a good investment? Thats not the cities fault. These were never meant to be permanent structures.
Making them tear the sheds down only to make them reapply to put them up later, bureaucracy at its best. What a waste of money. I’d be furious as a business owner, not to mention the missing revenue generated from these dining sheds.
Men giving discounts in the comment section like They don't know the Owners make their bartenders, kitchen staff and bussers take everything down for minimun wage. You all don't how the service industry works.
Shows how stupid life is. Build indoor sheds but outdoors still containing polluted toxic air for COVID! Now…..Take these sheds down or face fines. It’s all about control.
They waited because every table that dines is a certain amount of cash in the budget, restaurants will definitely go under w/out those outside tables. Imagine doing 4 tops all year and then the next year those 4s turn into 2s. I'd wait until the last second too.
All of this, just so lazy car drivers have an extra parking space so that they don’t have to walk a block anymore. Typical car brain. Always thinking they deserve every inch of roadspace
1:45 20K to demolish that shed? No wonder he’s having trouble finding a demolition company to do it. Bro, a group of 4 guys each with a sledgehammer and one pick up truck could do it for probably 2K total cash. Lmao nyc really be overpricing everything.
Outdoor sheds take up street parking and unsafe for patrons. Also, block full access to sidewalks that many rely on. Sheds shouldn't be allowed anytime.
@@DaveRamblesmajority of New Yorkers don’t own cars, so it is only fair that those majority of New Yorkers have some of the road space. We don’t need more parking. If you don’t like the parking situation then take the subway train or bike. Also bike lanes don’t take up nearly as much space as car lanes and parking spots. 55 percent of New Yorkers don’t own a car, so it is only fair that we give 55 percent of road space to buses and bikes, in fact we don’t even need that much road space. Just give us a lane, that’s all we are asking for. You car drivers can have the rest of your 8 lanes
Good take all this crap down so people can park again it's ridiculous already
Parking is back thank god
The entitled drivers are always so funny, walking an extra block is impossible 😂
They might give the parking away to migrant scooter rest stop

Do you think they would clean up after the raid of copper hahaha demolition work doesn’t just end at destroying things
😅
I can demo that for $300 and a 6pack of coors light.
How about $200 and a case of bud light?
Lmao
Don't worry bud, restaurants owners make their bartenders, kitchen staff and bussers take everything out with no equipment for minumun wage LMAO.
you guys have horrible taste in beer
The important context and nuance is that when you Demo it, you do a poor job, and don’t clean things up
When is the city removing the citi bikes that no one uses?
True.. There are several cities bike docks in my neighborhood and it rarely looks like they even get used and they take up valuable parking spaces..
@@QueensNativeNYCLet's do that pertition lol
Considering how often I see people on Citibikes, you must be deeply confused or swimming in confirmation bias
Touché
I don’t understand why they can’t put all the citibike docking stations on a part of the sidewalk instead of a part of the road/street
20k to demo?
Hold my beer..
HaHa
20K for demolition is absurd! Whoever is charging that much should be imprisoned for daylight robbery.
20k os how much they are going to write off
20k to demolish, what?
I'll do it for 10 🤑😂
Probably more like three thousand
It’s about time.
These are a waste of space!
lol wtf? They had so much time to remove them.

Why do they have to be taken down? Maybe they should apply for a permit all year why only April to November?
@@DaveRambles I dont know, maybe cause nobody will be eating outside in the freezing cold???
@ they have heaters

These street dining sheds are eye sores
Thank god they are getting rid of these monstrosities
The reporter that said $20k to take it down made that number up.
20k, to take down! I’ll do it for 5k Black Friday discount!
Finally!!! Yay we will have back more space and maybe less rodents and visual pollution.
Hurry and shut down your crap shacks.

Thank god just taking up all the parking space like parking in NYC isn’t hard enough
ZeroEnigma can finally ride on the bike lane, no more dining sheds.

Praise be
I can take that down for $500.
I'll do it for $5,000 🤣🤣
Im sure new yorkers will be satisfied now they dont have to walk in a confined line on the sidewalk anymore

$20k to demolish 😂😂😂😂
At that rate, they should let them keep it.

NJ is smart. But God knows NYC needs it. The restaurants just aren't big enough to accommodate large crowds on busy days.
Can we get our parking park? Or will they give it away for migrant scooter parking lol
The most I miss Multi-meter 😂
Finally
The laws nyc chooses to enforce are based on how profitable a conviction can be.
Thank democrats for this

How are we going to stop the spread now? They were extremely effective in reducing infections just like masks.
