Thanks! This is very helpful. I got these two thinking exactly that, they would be like lil flyin domesticated hamsters or something. NOPE! They have so much exotic behaviors, very delicate zippy creatures. After four months I'm finally truly bonding with them. The female and I bonded pretty quickly but the male and I have been butting heads, I finally found a move where I feed him a treat at the same time as patting his back lightly. I approach him with my treat and hand at the same time until he is more interested in the treat than my hand. He is really cool. So glad we are finally getting along. He would yell at me a lot before and then his sister would get all flustered. Adding onto their cage soon, looking to make their environment more interactive. They sure are a handful, but so worth it. Very cute and adorable little creations of God. Shalom!
What you talked about is so important for others to see and understand. The way you explain everything was very simple and easy to understand. Wonderful job, you are helping alot of sugar gliders parents.
I like how that how that was worded... "getting to know them, and getting over your insecurities" I adopted some sugar gliders from my local SPCA last spring and I'm still working on bonding with them. I think getting to know them has been a huge part of everything. They are so individually unique and I'm happy to let them be who they are and try to bond with them within that parameter. I was also surprised at myself and how insecure I was with them. I love animals and have been around many types, but these little guys scared me a bit. Not in the traditional sense, but I found I had unexpected worries with them. They are complex in many ways, and for so long I was deeply afraid to handle them for fear of hurting them and just because of their unpredictability in the beginning. I never experienced that insecurity with animals before.
Thank you! I really appreciate this! I plan to do another video on my experience when I first got them and I will share how intimidated I was! They can be very scary lol
I just found your channel today, and just started watching your videos, and I’m a new subscriber. I have a question for you, have you ever had one of your sugar gliders bite you aggressively? Also, what are the noises that they make and what do the noises mean?
@@sugargliderdiaries Your gliders are very cute! Great video! I have 2 boys now that don't really like to be held. That's just how they are sometimes ☺️
Me and my sugar glider aren't at the point to where he can crawl on me and stuff like that but I can pick him up for a few seconds sometimes a minute or twi
I know you sorta answered thus but is crabbing a bonding thing or what causes them to crab because mine stooped crabbing within the first two months so I though that is was because she had gotten a little more used to who I am but now I am kinda wondering if that is the case because yours still crab and you had yours much longer than I had mine so does it depend on the sugar glider
It can have to do with bonding for sure but it can also just stay a small part of their personality and how they communicate even after they are bonded.
could you tell us some more info about sugar gilders in general or like show a day in your life with sugar gliders? I've been doing research and kinda want to get one

I use to have one named Stella too. I actually trained her to stay in my hand by having her fall asleep in my hand while still in the pouch. :)
So cute!

Hey is there anyway I could message you directly, I need help with some sugar gliders I got!
I am a new surgar glider owner almost two weeks now . When is the best time of day to bond
but they do crab around people
they dont know
mine crab at strangers much more frequently than they do to me, but not a ton :)
Is it okay to start off with 2 sugar gliders and then add another?
Absolutely
Me and my sugar glider aren't at the point to where he can crawl on me and stuff like that but I can pick him up for a few seconds sometimes a minute or twi
well that is good :) i am sure you will get there :)
MY MOM AND DAD WONT LETXME UAVE A SUGER GLIDER, AND I LOVE THEM
That is hard but they are a lot of work so your family really does need to be on board.

Yes! Both of those things are on my list of videos to do in the future :)
How did you get to this point? Can you do a video explaining what you did from day one?
Chirstie Landsberg yes absolutely!!
Hi Chirstie 😀. Did you see the video I posted in response to this question today 😊
My guys kinda smell funky. Any tips for that?
Jackson Knollwood yes I will do a video about this!
Diet
Jackson Knollwood did you see the video I just posted yesterday? “Do Sugar Gliders Stink?”
Where did you get your pouch? I've been struggling to find one as big as that one!
Amy Paquette do you mean the bra pouch I used in this video? If so I made it and also have a video on my channel on how to make it (no sew)
