This is ONLY part one for Regional at Best. We will definitely have a second part and probably a third. Part 2 is already in heavy production and will be out hopefully soon. We have a LOT for this album.
Bladen Nelson it looks like that the highest octave of the synth has the normal velocities, the middle octave having a bit higher velocity, the second to the lowest octave having a velocity that is close to highest, and then the bass notes having the highest velocity
Dismount Studios actually I’m pretty sure most of the sounds came from nexus presets except for piano, bass, drums, some horns and vocals. I think a synth from Lane Boy is part of a Sylenth1 present though.
The chords in Holding on to You (3:02) are the same as in Take A Walk by Passion Pit and the sound in Slowtown (14:30) is the same as in Sleepyhead by Passion Pit. Just thought it was a pretty interesting coincidence
you can see there is obviously a lot more electronic sounds in RAB, heaps of songs have heaps more MIDI and Preset reliance, do people like it? Personally I'm happy it doesn't effect live performance that much, they could still rock the stage, but I know some people liked ST because it was featured less electronically needed sounds and more live "studio based" sounds overall...
That's one of the reasons why I love Self- Titled so much, and what makes it different from the other albums, which all seem to contain more of a reliance on technology. I guess they just changed their sound to one that uses more digitally produced tracks (if that's the correct terminology), so more MIDI and preset reliance is inevitable. In an interview from 2011 Tyler said that becoming a duo caused them to rely more on technology, especially when performing live. More live instruments do add something special to a show, but as you say, they still rock the stage
Fran Leary yeah i agree! i guess rab was a really great sort of experimentation of electronic sounds, i think they nailed it, and personally, i think if they were to play electronic sounds live and try to recreate them without backingtrack or computer help, theyd lose their spark live, all im saying i think their reliance and use of technology on and off stage makes them pretty cool! also i think once rab was over anf vessel/bf came around, they had a good mix of both. If you listen to stems of fairly local/heavydirtysoul and stuff, basses and drums seem much more live played, also ukulele being added and having to be played live added to that aspect :) good response thanks!! what do you think?
Self titled used a lot less sounds. Most of those songs relied on his vocals. RAB has a ton of synths and techno choruses where he experimented with more dance electronic elements. Tyler always referred to his fearless songwriting on Self-titled and I think it’s because he pushed himself to write slow emotional songs and he didn’t realize how easily he could’ve written uptempo rock pop music.
El talento para recopilar todo esto es simplemente increible, amo al clique, pero sobre todo amo esta parte tan talentosa, yo coo músico encuentro esto IMPRESIONANTE,
The drums in Ode to sleep that come in at 1:16 in the song are missing from this set, i've been piecing together your sounds to see how nice it sounds all played at once and its pretty good, there's just some lines missing
he still uses logic, and most of trench and sai's synths are either custom patches from his nord prophet (rarer) or presets from various synths in the arturia v collection (more common)
I believe its all been recorded with a pressure sensitive MIDI controller so the more red the note is, the harder, and therefore louder/intense, the sound i splayed by the computer

WrightP would you mind telling me what you did to FM Renderings cause u can't seem to figure it out lol

AlChimbo [GD] thanks but I meant more around the ringshift
OMG I CAN'T WAIT !!
@WrightP Hello Could You Do One For No Thun Intended and Blurryface
6:09 has to be my favorite sound in Guns For Hands.
oh my god yes i kept replaying that bit
this makes me realize how nostalgic this album is. tyler especially made slowtown sound nostalgic. what a genius
Nah he didn't
6:07 YES OMG
2:56 Sounds very similar to something that would be in The Hype ahaha
0:13 Holding On To You
3:23 Guns For Hands
7:30 Ode To Sleep
13:59 Slowtown
Crazy how all of these sounds together produced ode to sleep.
Y... You... You found the guns for hands synth.... Tears
3:26; just leaving This as a replay button. thank you for this
IM SETTING THIS AS MY RING TONE
I don’t see how Tyler can make all of these amazing sounds.
by the way, I'm pretty sure the effect on the synth at 9:20 is created by using pitch bend automation and taking the pitch from 0 to 64
Yeah you can hear it in the original song
6:40 it's really similar to the beat after breakdown in Car Radio!
I'm just ready for Blurryface presets to come soon
Killjøy Clique The hard part there is that most of Blurryface's sounds were custom made for the album
Dismount Studios actually I’m pretty sure most of the sounds came from nexus presets except for piano, bass, drums, some horns and vocals. I think a synth from Lane Boy is part of a Sylenth1 present though.
riley morris Yeah, but that is what I was mainly referring to, synths are just about the only sampled presets
We have plenty of synths, percussion, and more known so far in Blurryface! We will have a presets video in the coming months.
@Dismount I've found many blurryface sounds lol
The chords in Holding on to You (3:02) are the same as in Take A Walk by Passion Pit and the sound in Slowtown (14:30) is the same as in Sleepyhead by Passion Pit.

yeah so true!
Dude I love what they did in rab. Like for example I feel like slowtown is there best song ever just because of the electronic feel.
Esto calma nuestra ansiedad mientras están en hiatus. xD
Amé slowtown es el mejor

16:22 did Tyler make that or is that a preset for playing or the pattern is like that?
those notes are drawn out on the piano roll. sometimes they're modified but none of the synths on the first two albums are tyler originals.
Hey ! Its reaaalllly good thank you

is this like what tyler would use for his music or something else? if its something else, would someone mind telling me what they used lol.
I'm 99% sure he uses logic to this day
he still uses logic, and most of trench and sai's synths are either custom patches from his nord prophet (rarer) or presets from various synths in the arturia v collection (more common)
Wait. Didn't they make this on Ableton or something?
Jorge's Channel
on logic pro. self titled was made on garage band with mainstage
not gerard way of my chemical romance ok
I think you still read and reply to comments, but could you show like the exact EZDrummer presets used inside of EZDrummer?

Jimbocius no u
Hell. Fuckin. Yeah.

YEEEEEEEEEES
Holy fuck that’s amazing
Anybody knows what program software 21 pilots is using and backing track on live performances ?
Josh says they use Ableton Live
But starting out in the self titled-RAB era they used Mainstage
for regional at best they used Logic Pro
RAB was mainstage still, logic pro is shown in a video because that’s where they make the songs but they export to mainstage for the performances
@@WrightP yeah that too
Wig
Regional at Best part 2 plzz
